A method of forming a seat cover may include providing a high frequency welding device, locating a seat cover in the high frequency welding device, and energizing the high frequency welding device to either join two or more pieces of the seat cover together or to impart a shape to form a contoured seat cover.

Vehicle seat and a method for producing the vehicle seat

A system for connecting a seat cover and a seat back is disclosed. The system may have a fastener strip with a sinusoidal shape that connects the cover to the seat back so that at least a portion the cover can be seamless over the fastener strip. The design of the fastener strip permits it to be hidden from view on an exterior of the cover.

System for connecting a seat cover to a seat back

A connector assembly is provided with a housing forming an exterior, an inlet end, a cavity, and an outlet end. The housing has a recess formed within the exterior and at least one aperture formed through the housing within the recess for venting the cavity. A cord extends through the inlet end into the cavity. The first housing portion has a first fastener mechanism formed within the cavity. The second housing portion is provided with a second fastener mechanism sized to extend into the first housing portion cavity for engagement with the first fastener mechanism to fasten the first housing portion and the second housing portion together. A molded material is disposed within the cavity for engaging the fastened first and second fastener mechanisms for minimizing unfastening of the first and second fastener mechanisms. Retainers are provided for cords of varying thicknesses.

Connector assembly

A cordset assembly having a charge controller interruption device and a cord reel. The charge control interruption device may have a housing and at least one cord. The cord reel may have first and second reel portions. The cord may be wound around the housing between the first and second reel portions to facilitate storage.

Cordset assembly

A connector assembly having a body is provided. The body forms an inlet, an internal cavity, and an outlet. A plate is oriented in the cavity and adjacent to the outlet. A harness partially extends through the inlet, into the cavity, and is connected to the plate. A molded material is disposed over the harness within the internal cavity on an inlet side of the plate. The molded material includes an integrally formed grommet that is oriented at the inlet of the body for providing strain relief to the harness.

Connector assembly for vehicle charging

An adjustable head restraint assembly for a vehicle seat is provided with a pair of shells. Each shell is sized to mate with the other and collectively retain a pair of posts therebetween. A frame adapted to mate with the pair of shells for retaining the pair of shells upon the pair of posts. A locking mechanism is provided on at least one of the frame and the pair of shells for locking the pair of shells and the frame to the pair of posts, and for permitting adjustment of the pair of shells and the frame along the posts.

Adjustable head restraint assembly for vehicle seats

A connector assembly is provided with a support structure having an elongate shape and an inlet for receiving a charging cable. A fitting is disposed in mechanical interlocking engagement with a distal end of the support structure for interconnecting the support structure with a vehicle charging receptacle. The support structure and the fitting are configured for disconnecting from each other when the connector assembly is subjected to a lateral load above a predetermined threshold value.

A charge handle for use in charging a plug-in vehicle having a charge port includes a body having a receptacle for engaging the charge port to provide for charging the vehicle. A latch rotatably mounted to the body has a first end for securing the engagement of the receptacle to the charge port, and has a second end. An actuator lever is rotatably mounted to the body. The actuator lever has a first end connected to the second end of the latch, and has a second end. A trigger mechanism includes a trigger located on the opposite side of the body from the latch. The trigger mechanism is arranged such that depressing the trigger pushes the second end of the actuator lever to rotate the actuator lever to cause the latch to rotate and disengage the receptacle from the charge port.

Hybrid/electric vehicle charge handle latch mechanism

A connector assembly couples an electrical power supply to a vehicle charging circuit. The assembly includes an elongate handle and a plug coupled to each other. The handle forms an internal cavity for supporting an electrical harness. The plug includes a first end that is attached to the outlet of the handle, and a second end opposite the first end for engaging a vehicle charging receptacle. The plug includes a series of tabs that longitudinally extend from the first end to engage a series of slots formed in the outlet of the handle for attaching the plug to the handle. The series of tabs and the series of slots collectively form a structural weak point for failure by localizing deformation between the tabs and the slots when the assembly is subjected to a predetermined side load applied to an intermediate portion of the assembly.

A vehicle seat assembly having a backrest member and a seat bottom subassembly connected to the backrest member. The seat bottom subassembly has a cushion pan comprising a polymeric material, a cushion comprising a foam material supported on the cushion pan, and a trim layer comprising a fabric material disposed over the cushion. The cushion pan defines a plurality of integral trim attachment features. The trim layer is attached to the cushion pan through engagement with the trim attachment features.
