In an uncoupling element for uncoupling vibrations of the turbocharger of an internal combustion engine from an exhaust system with a bellows, provisions are made, especially for achieving a lower stiffness with short overall length, for the bellows to be a diaphragm bellows.

Uncoupling element

A heat-insulated wound hose is formed by a process, in which a metal wound hose is at first upset, such that turns, which are spaced apart by adjacent axial wall areas of individual turns, form at least one uninterrupted jacket wall surface. A ceramic-based coating is subsequently applied to the at least one uninterrupted jacket wall surface. The coating is then cured, and the wound hose thus formed is subsequently pulled apart, whereby adjacent axial wall areas of adjacent turns are detached from one another and thereby the coating is broken up at partitions.

Connecting ends on a hose piece comprising several metal layers, in particular a strip wound metal hose piece, are produced by fixing the overlapping metal layers of a hose of larger length or of an endless hose in the region of the point of separation through welding and subsequently cutting off the hose piece from the longer hose or the endless hose. For simple and inexpensive fixing of the metal layers in the region of the point of separation, a welding seam is generated which extends through at least part of the periphery of the hose or about its entire periphery, using roller seam welding. The hose piece can subsequently be separated along the welding seam obtained in this manner, e.g. along its central line, thereby ensuring permanent and reliable fixing of the metal layers in the region of the connecting end.
