An endoscopic capsule system comprising: an endoscopic capsule having magnetic characteristics; an extracorporeal guiding and moving apparatus having a moveable multi-hinged cantilever arm which is pivotably mounted at a support stand at one end and at an effector having magnetic characteristics at the other end to move the endoscopic capsule in accordance with movement of the effector; a controller device to define the position and orientation of the endoscopic capsule relative to the effector, and a force and/or moment generation device or a braking device to generate counter forces and/or counter moments or braking forces against moving and/or guiding forces that are manually applied to the cantilever arm and/or effector in accordance with the actually defined position and/or orientation of the endoscopic capsule relative to the effector.

A tissue clip application fitting set or retrofitting set includes a cap attachment for placement on the distal head of a medical endoscope, which has a placement section and a tissue clip holding section. The cap attachment is notched at least at two angular positions forming at least two notches/slots/grooves. A working channel leads into the hollow chamber and exits the hollow chamber radially in a region distal to the placement section and proximal to the radially supported tissue clip. A first guiding or leading element is arranged after the working channel belonging to the retrofitting set, as seen in the distal direction. A corresponding second guiding or leading element is arranged within the hollow chamber at an angular distance from the first guiding or leading element so as to be oriented in extension to a working channel belonging to the endoscope.

Tissue clip application fitting/retrofitting set

A medical capsule is equipped with a sensor device having light emitting and light receiving elements. The sensor device can detect blood on the basis of light absorption properties of the blood. The capsule has a casing forming a recess or gap at its outer surface. The recess has a pre-selected width which represents a fixed measuring track between the light emitting and light receiving elements being arranged at opposing sides of the recess or gap when seen in its width direction. The present invention relates to devices, and methods for using the devices, to create and secure a tissue fold during an endoluminal medical procedure. The devices and methods may be used for folding and securing, for example, a fundus wall onto an esophagus wall or esophageal tissue in the region of the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) to reduce the diameter of the esophagus opening in that region. One aspect of the invention includes forming the tissue fold by closing a grasping arm that is pivotably connected to an overtube that has been positioned at the juncture of the fundus wall and esophagus wall. A further aspect of the invention includes tissue clips configured to be inserted and positioned through an endoluminal device.

Methods and devices for folding and securing tissue

Endoscopic devices and methods used for fastening multiple tissue layers, such as, for example, an endoscopic fundoplication procedure, are disclosed. The device may include, for example, an elongated tubular member having a proximal end for extending outside of the body and a distal end for positioning proximate the multiple tissue layers, a grasper configured for positioning proximate the distal end of the tubular member and for grasping at least one of the multiple tissue layers, a device coupled to the distal end of the tubular member for folding the multiple tissue layers together, a tissue fastener configured to be inserted into the tissue layers to hold the tissue layers together, and a fastener head for inserting the tissue fastener into the tissue layers.

The present invention relates to an endoscope cap with a holding and withdrawal device for a tissue clip () that can be placed onto a spreading sleeve () of the endoscope cap (). The endoscope cap comprises an end groove () that opens at the front edge of the spreading sleeve () and that slits open the cap wall on both sides, and a withdrawal thread or web () that radially traverses the end groove () in a forward axial cap section and that is introduced or can be introduced slideably into an endoscope channel for actuation thereof at a radial inside of the endoscope cap ().

What is disclosed is an endoscopic surgical instrument with a hose-shaped outside jacket, in which a likewise hose-shaped inside jacket is supported relatively displaceable, on whose distal end section a sleeve or shaft-shaped instrument head is formed or mounted.
