In one embodiment, an apparatus includes: a low noise amplifier (LNA) to receive and amplify a radio frequency (RF) signal, the LNA having a first controllable gain; a mixer to downconvert the RF signal to a second frequency signal; a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) coupled to the mixer to amplify the second frequency signal, the PGA having a second controllable gain; a digitizer to digitize the second frequency signal to a digitized signal; a demodulator coupled to the digitizer to demodulate the digitized signal; an automatic gain control (AGC) circuit to control one or more of the first controllable gain and the second controllable gain; and an AGC settling circuit to cause the demodulator to begin operation in response to determining that the AGC circuit has settled.

Apparatus for determining when an automatic gain control circuit has settled

A circuit comprises a vector separator circuit to generate a first extracted signal according to (i) a first correlation signal, (ii) a second correlation signal, and (iii) a relative response signal. The first correlation signal corresponds to a first correlation between an input signal and a first test signal. The first test signal has a first frequency, and the input signal includes a first spur having the first frequency. The second correlation signal corresponds to a second correlation between the input signal and a second test signal. The second test signal has a second frequency. The relative response signal corresponds to a relative response of the second frequency in the first correlation signal.

Interference cancellation

In one embodiment, an apparatus includes an upconversion unit configured to upconvert a baseband signal to a radio frequency (RF) signal. A plurality of baluns for a plurality of wireless bands are provided. Multiplexing circuitry is coupled to the plurality of baluns where the upconversion unit is coupled to each balun through the multiplexing circuitry. The multiplexing circuitry is configured to multiplex the radio frequency signal from the upconversion unit to one of the plurality of baluns based on a wireless band being used.

Transmit architecture for wireless multi-mode applications

This disclosure describes techniques for modulating data. In one embodiment, these techniques include receiving an I or Q value, generating a time-shifted sample of a shaped pulse based on the I or Q value, and providing the time-shifted sample to a digital-to-analog converter.

WCDMA modulation

This disclosure describes techniques for using a pulse look-up-table to replace FIR filters used to implement modulation schemes, such as the modulation schemes used by various wireless communication technologies. In some embodiments the pulse look-up-table is segmented and minimized so that the pulse look-up-table can be used with complex modulation schemes.
