A vacuum cleaner head with a suction component consisting of laterally-opposed wing-like members positioned transversely to the front end of the head used to access and suction dirt, debris and fluids within confined or low-clearance areas under furniture and appliances and includes a generally thin flat elongated hollow member designed to reach maximum extension and floor surface coverage within the confined or low-clearance areas. Included is a flexible hollow hose fitting set back and disposed at an acute angle from the back end of the vacuum cleaner head for slidably mounting the vacuum cleaner head to a hollow hose wand. The hollow hose wand with a bottom end releasably attached to the flexible hollow hose fitting is adapted to be bent downward toward the floor surface when a sufficient downward pressure is exerted by the user upon the hollow hose wand used for maneuvering (approximately eleven inches in width) the vacuum cleaner head. This action also ensures that the head continues in constant sliding engagement with the floor to prevent the head from separating or lifting off from the floor surface and neutralizing the otherwise full functional capability of the suction head.

Skateboard truck

A device for use with a skateboard and a skateboard truck assembly to facilitate the removal and replacement of various component parts of a skateboard truck assembly including the bushings and the tension bolt, which is used to join the base plate and the axle assembly. The bolt, which is inserted through the aligned apertures in the axle assembly and the base plate, penetrates into the area beneath the base plate where it emerges and mates with the threaded nut. The device is supported by the bottom surface of the board and held stationary inside a pocket formed within the underside of the base plate and consists of integrally formed components including a generally flat base, a sloped guide platform situated upon the base, and an upstanding heel section formed at the base of the sloped guide platform. The guide platform is constructed according to a specific angle of inclination to fix the nut's orientation and to enable the nut and the threaded end of the bolt to properly align and engage. The upstanding heel section is provided to arrest the nut from deviating from its desired angle and position of alignment. Formed along the center portion of the heel section is a slight recess that aids in the proper positioning of the nut and to keep the nut immobile. Inside the pocket, which receives and generally conforms to the size and shape of the pedestal, is a hollow area, which holds the nut and keeps it confined to prevent rotation.

Skateboard device

A skateboard truck assembly that includes a skateboard, a mounting plate, which is used to mount the truck assembly to the underside of the board, a mounting bracket to bridge the truck assembly to the mounting plate and an axle assembly, which includes axle rods, axle hubs and two wheels. The axle assembly is generally arcuate in shape and includes a lower surface with a more pronounced arcuate design and a central arched section. Each axle rod extends outwardly from the central arched section and slopes down to a terminus point adjacent to the inside portion of the wheel where the axle rod flares relative to the size of the axle hub to conform to the interior sidewall of the wheel and the underside of the flared axle rod coincides in substantial aligned relation with the corresponding wheel tread.

Skateboard truck assembly

A polyester composition has a number average molecular weight M.sub.n of between about 500 and about 1000, a weight average molecular weight M.sub.w of between about 600 and about 2000, a polydispersity below about 2, preferably below about 1.8, hydroxyl functionality between 2 and 3, a hydroxyl value of between about 160 and about 260, and an acid number below about 10. Less than about 5% of the OH groups of the polyester are pendent, the rest being terminal. Between about 10 and about 50 wt % of the monomers used to form the polyester composition are anhydrides having the formula: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is a non-aromatic, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon chain having between 6 and 30 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or a non-aromatic saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon having between 1 and 8 carbon atoms, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 have, in total, between 8 and 30 carbon atoms. The polyester in conjunction with a hydroxyl-reactive curative provides a coating composition.

Low molecular weight hydroxy functional polyesters for coatings

The polyester composition of this invention comprises a polyester oligomer having a number average molecular weight of from about 650 to about 950, a weight average molecular weight of from about 950 to about 1900, and a polydispersity of from about 1.45 to about 2. The hydroxyl value is from about 150 to about 275, and the acid number is less than about 7. Substantially all of the hydroxy groups are primary and from 0 to about 5% of the hydroxy groups are present as pendant hydroxy-alkyl groups. The polyester is formed by a two-stage reaction of monomers consisting of carboxylic anhydrides having from 4 to 34 carbon atoms and polyols having from 2 to 20 carbon atoms. From about 10 to about 50% by weight of the monomers are anhydrides having the formula: ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is a non-aromatic hydrocarbon radical having from 6 to 30 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or a non-aromatic hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms. The total number of carbon atoms in R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is from 8 to 30 carbon atoms. The polyester in conjunction with a hydroxyl-reactive curative provides a coating composition.

A silicone/polyester adduct comprises between about 5 and about 30 wt % of silicone adducted to between about 70 and about 95% polyester chains formed from polyfunctional acids plus polyfunctional acids and/or anhydrides. At least about 50 mole percent of the polyfunctional acids and/or anhydrides are cycloaliphatic.

Silicone-modified aliphatic polyester

Aqueous dispersions having low VOCs are dispersions or solutions of polyesters. The polyesters useful are formed from A) between about 30 and about 60 mole percent polycarboxylic acids, of which at least about 80 mole percent comprises cyclohexanedicarboxylic acids, B) between about 35 and about 70 mole percent polyols of which at least about 95 mole percent comprises diols, and between about 40 and about 100 mole percent of the polyol content comprising cycloaliphatic diols, and C) between about 5 and about 25 mole percent of a monomer having dihydroxy, monocarboxylic acid functionality. The molar ratio of (B+C)/A is between about 1.01 and about 1.30, whereby the polyester is hydroxyl-terminated having hydroxyl numbers of between about 20 and about 150 and acid numbers between about 30 and about 100. The weight average molecular weight of the polyester is between about 1000 and about 20,000. In aqueous dispersions or solutions, the acid functionality of the polyester is neutralized with base to at least about 40%.

UV-stable, water-borne polyester compositions

A low cost, high performance coating for sheet metal which is to be formed into siding for houses and automobile panels is made from a polyester prepared by the condensation of hexahydrophthalic acid and a mixture of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol and an acyclic polyol wherein the mole percent of acyclic polyol is from 50 to 60; and a crosslinking agent containing the --N--CH.sub.2 --OR moiety wherein R is hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and the unsatisfied valence is attached to an organic group capable of incorporation into a film.

Hard, flexible, and durable architectural coating

The present invention relates to polymer compositions which are useful particularly as flow aids in coating resin formulations. In one embodiment, the polymer composition is prepared by reacting (A) at least one acrylic ester, vinyl monomer or mixtures thereof, provided the acrylic ester is not a hydroxyalkyl acrylate, (B) at least one monoester of an alpha-beta unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, and (C) at least one hydroxy-containing compound selected from hydroxyalkyl acrylates and compounds characterized by the formula

Polymer compositions useful as flow aids, and coating compositions

The invention provides novel acrylic resins particularly useful for formulating polyvinylidene fluoride/thermosetting acrylic polymer coating compositions. The acrylic polymer is comprised of (a) acrylic acids and acrylic esters having no additional functionality, (b) acrylic acids and acrylic esters having additional functionality by which the acrylic polymer may be cross-linked, and (c) an acryloxyalkyl oxizolidine.

The improved composition comprises: about 43-31 mole % of neopentyl glycol; about 10-21 mole % of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol; about 10-21 mole % of aliphatic dicarboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of adipic acid, sebacic acid, azelaic acid, 1,12-dodecanedioic acid and mixtures thereof; about 22-16 mole % of aromatic acid selected from the group consisting of orthophthalic acid, isophthalic acid and mixture thereof; about 15-11 mole % of terephthalic acid; and, sufficient condensation catalyst to effect substantial esterification and polymerization of said composition at elevated temperature. The catalyst may be, for example, dibutyl tin oxide. The mole ratio of alcohol to acid is about 1.08-1, 13:1. The polyester resin is provided by reacting the components of the composition at a temperature of, for example, 470.degree. F. for a time sufficient to complete the reaction, the resin having an average molecular weight of at least about 5000 and preferably about 5000-7000. The resin is then cooled, diluted with hydrocarbon solvent and reacted with melamine resin or the like in the presence of a cross-linking agent to provide an improved coil coating. The coil coating when cured as a film on a coil substrate exhibits superior hardness, bend flexibility and resistance to solvent degradation. The liquid coating also resists crystallization in storage and the polyester resin thereof is more readily soluble in common organic solvents.
