An automated gate actuator system is provided for use in selectively opening and closing a gate that dispenses proppant from a proppant container during the course of a hydraulic fracturing operation. A lever arm is pivotally mounted for movement to place a drive gear in contact with a driven gear to open and close the gate. The gate may be remotely or autonomously actuated in this manner utilizing an electronic control triggered by human and/or sensor input.

A proppant container facilitates the transportation of wet sand for use in a hydraulic fracturing operation. The container is mounted in a cradle that tips downward in arcuate motion for discharge or proppant through a top opening The tipping mechanism may be driven by a system of gears or a hydraulic ram.

Proppant dispensing system

A proppant container facilitates the transportation of wet sand for use in a hydraulic fracturing operation. The proppant container is provided with a system for dislodging the wet sand for subsequent use. This may be done by use of a vibrator or an umbrella valve. In another aspect, the proppant container may be used in combination with a rack having a wash system that slurries the proppant for delivery to a blender tub without necessarily resorting to use of a conveyor belt.

A metering conveyor is positioned between a blender tub and a proppant motive mechanism, such as a conveyor or wash system that receives discharge direct from proppant containers of the type normally used to transport sand in support of a hydraulic fracturing operation. The metering conveyor is fitted with equipment including an intermediate surge hopper with a vibration system and a knife-edge gate that may be used to facilitate the operational movement of sand.

A proppant container facilitates the transportation of wet sand for use in a hydraulic fracturing operation. A metering conveyor is positioned between a blender tub and a proppant motive mechanism, such as a conveyor or wash system that receives discharge direct from proppant containers of the type normally used to transport sand in support of a hydraulic fracturing operation. The metering conveyor is fitted with equipment including a knife-edge gate that may be used to facilitate flow control operations.

A conveyor sled assembly is utilized to supply proppant in support of oilfield hydraulic fracturing operations. The conveyor sled assembly includes precisely positioned components where tolerances between components are so small as to prevent significant spillage at component junction boundaries. This manner of fitting proppant pods onto the conveyor sled assembly increases predictability of which pods will discharge their proppant load first. This enhances reliability of the overall proppant delivery system.

A container or pod is specially constructed for hauling proppant in support of oilfield hydraulic fracturing operations. Dimensions are provided that comport with common dimensions in use for transportation of intermodal containers, with the containers being sized so as not to require special permitting from a regulatory standpoint when two such containers are loaded on a single trailer. A method of filling the containers is also provided, which include inverting the container to fill from a bottom gate that also serves as the discharge opening when the filled container is rotated back into an upright position.

Intermodal storage and transportation container

A system for distributing a fracking proppant at a well site using a support frame to position a series of storage containers above a conveyor. The support frame receives a plurality of storage container and aligns the storage containers with hoppers formed on the conveyor. The support frame can include outriggers that extend to increase the stability and the amount of supported weight. The support frame includes a series of cross supports that extend across the conveyor belts to support the storage containers. The cross supports can include load cells to monitor the weight of the storage containers and stored proppant. The width of the cross supports can be adjusted and the support frame can include an extension frame to expand the width of the support frame. A control panel is included to display the status of the containers (full/empty/partially full) and control and monitoring the discharge rate of the plurality of containers.

A reusable proppant pod provides a containerized system for transport of oilfield proppant to a well location, and facilitates rapid discharge of the proppant in support of hydraulic fracturing operation. The proppant pod has a cylindrical sidewall, a top, and a frustoconical bottom that tapers towards a discharge gate. An external frame may be provided in rectilinear form to stabilize the proppant pod for road transport and to facilitate storage-stacking of a plurality of such proppant pods, one atop the other. The proppant pod is provided with fork lift tubes extending through the cylindrical sidewall. The proppant pod may have a solid top, in which case the proppant pod is inverted for filling operations that introduce proppant into the proppant pod through the discharge gate. A vent assembly is provided to facilitate entry of air during proppant discharge operations, where the vent assembly provides also a seal against proppant leakage during the inverted fill operation.
