A turbocharger contains a turbine housing having an accommodating region for a turbine rotor disk of the turbocharger, which accommodating region is arranged centrally with respect to a turbine housing axis, and a turbine spiral channel, which tapers helically toward the accommodating region. A wastegate valve, having a spindle arm and a valve plate arranged on the spindle arm, or a variable exhaust-gas guiding device, having bearing disks and guide vanes, is arranged in the turbine housing. At least one of the: turbine housing, spindle arm and valve plate, or bearing disks and guide vanes, has a steel material for high-temperature applications. The material composition of which contains, in addition to iron, Fe, at least the following alloying constituents in amounts within the specified limits in weight percent: carbon: 0.4-0.5%; silicon: 1.25-1.75%; manganese: 3.0-12.0%; chromium: 19.5-20.5%; nickel: 5.0-6.0%; niobium: 1.00-1.5%. The material composition ensures sufficient temperature resistance of the components.

Turbocharger, having a steel material for high-temperature applications

A flap configuration opens and closes a wastegate channel in a turbine housing of a turbocharger. The flap configuration has a lever element having a through-bore in which a cylindrical bushing is arranged. A flap having a pin is arranged on the lever element such that the pin passes through the bushing. A cover disk is arranged on an opposite side from the flap and has an opening through which the pin of the flap passes. The flap is riveted to the lever element by the pin.

A turbine housing for a turbocharger of an internal combustion engine includes an annular duct for conducting an exhaust-gas mass flow to a turbine wheel to be disposed in the turbine housing and an exhaust-gas discharge duct for discharging the exhaust-gas mass flow from the turbine housing after impinging on the turbine wheel. An insulating element is respectively disposed in a region of an inner wall of the annular duct and in a region of an inner wall of the exhaust-gas discharge duct. A turbocharger for an internal combustion engine has a bearing housing, in which a rotor shaft is mounted in a rotatable manner. A compressor having a compressor wheel is arranged for conjoint rotation on the rotor shaft. A fresh air supply channel conducts a fresh air mass flow to the compressor wheel. The fresh air supply channel has a first flow cross section upstream of the compressor wheel. A flow control device is provided and is adjustable between an open position, in which the first flow cross section is opened up, and a closed position, in which the first flow cross section is reduced to a second flow cross section. The flow control device is fluidically coupled to a compressor channel of the compressor downstream of the compressor wheel, such that the flow control device is adjusted in a manner dependent on a pressure prevailing in the compressor channel.

Turbocharger for an internal combustion engine

A turbocharger has a shaft with a rotational axis, a radial/axial turbine wheel which is arranged in a turbine housing and which is connected to the shaft in a non-rotatable manner, and a bearing housing which adjoins the turbine housing and which contains a lateral wall facing the turbine housing. A sub-region of the lateral wall of the bearing housing forms a sub-region of the rear wall of the turbine housing. The sub-region of the bearing housing has two sub-sections, one of which runs diagonally to the rotational axis in an inflow direction of an exhaust gas flow conducted into the turbine housing and the second of which runs in a radial direction relative to the rotational axis of the shaft and parallel to the rear wall of the turbine wheel. The two sub-sections are connected to each other via an exhaust gas flow separation edge of the bearing housing.

A turbine housing for a turbocharger has a plurality of interconnected housing parts. A central, one-piece contoured component that is constructed as a cast component or a forged component is provided on that side of a spiral channel which faces away from a bearing housing attachment flange in the turbine housing. The contoured component has a wall region of the spiral channel, a boundary wall of an exhaust gas inlet gap and a sealing contour region. The contoured component is connected to its adjacent housing parts, which are at least partly constructed as sheet metal molded parts, so as to form the turbine housing.

An exhaust-gas turbocharger includes a turbine housing and a wastegate which is disposed in the turbine housing and has a wastegate flap. During an adjustment of the wastegate flap, the output shaft of the wastegate actuator interacts with a wastegate spindle which has a central axis. The output shaft of the wastegate actuator is thermally decoupled from the wastegate spindle.
