In some examples, a point-of-sale (POS) device may detect an offline mode that prevents the POS device or one or more other devices (which couple with the POS device via a short-range network) from communicating with a remote server via a long-range network. Responsive to detecting the offline mode, the POS device may authenticate the other devices to communicate over the short-range network and synchronize, between the POS and the other devices, information associated with an order over the short-range network. In response to detecting that the offline mode has concluded, the POS device may transmit the information from the POS device or at least one of the other devices to the remove server via the long-range network.

Methods and systems directed to scanning, by an imaging device associated with a customer computing device, a Quick Response (QR) code displayed on a merchant computing device; decoding, by an application on the customer computing device, data embedded in the QR code; identifying, by the customer computing device and based on the decoded data, a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a web page of the merchant, wherein the URL includes a payment proxy associated with the merchant; presenting the web page on the customer computing device; transmitting, by the customer computing device, an indication of interaction with the web page comprising an intent to purchase item(s) offered for sale via the web page; and receiving, by the customer computing device, an indication of completion of a payment for the item(s) facilitated by parsing the payment proxy server(s) of a payment processing system.

Apparatuses, methods, and systems for transmitting payment proxy information

A payment object reader can comprise a near-field communication (NFC) system, a Bluetooth system, one or more processors, and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media. The payment object reader can receive a command, from a point-of-sale (POS) application and via the Bluetooth system, to read a transaction instrument using the NFC system, wherein the POS application is executing on a POS device of a merchant The payment object reader can read payment information from the transaction instrument using the NFC system and send the payment information to the POS application via the Bluetooth system. Then the payment object reader can receive, from the POS application via the Bluetooth system, a transaction proxy corresponding to a merchant financial account of the merchant. The payment object reader then can send, via the NFC system, the transaction proxy to the transaction instrument.

In some examples, methods and systems may process one or more payment transactions between a merchant and a remote customer by exchanging at least one payment proxy having a syntax including a monetary currency indicator preceding an alphanumeric character, corresponding to the merchant or the customer over a mesh network. A customer device detects a neighboring beacon and sends a route request through a communication channel, the route request includes at least an address of a merchant beacon device. The neighboring beacon determines a routing path to connect the customer device and the merchant beacon device by hopping over one or more neighboring beacon devices. Once the communication channel is established, the customer device can send and receive the payment proxy to and from the merchant beacon device. The customer device is configured to generate a message identifying the payment proxy as a method of payment for the payment transaction.

Techniques for enabling transactions via a payment processing service for a merchant that is currently located outside of a particular region that the merchant utilizes the payment processing service for processing card-present transactions is described. A server associated with the payment processing service may receive, from a point-of-sale (POS) system, first payment data to satisfy a cost of a transaction between a customer and the merchant and may determine that the POS system is currently located outside of a region where the merchant utilizes the payment processing service to perform card-present transactions. The server may extract a portion of the first payment data, the portion of the first payment data corresponding to information required for a card-not-present transaction and may facilitate, based at least in part on the portion of the first payment data, a card-not-present transaction, instead of a card-present transaction, to authorize the cost of the transaction.
