A method for assigning a service quality of a radio access network to a wireless connection includes: establishing, by a mobile application, the wireless connection to an application backend via an access node of the radio access network; and assigning, by a scheduler of the radio access network, the service quality of the radio access network to the established wireless connection. The mobile application transmits a quality function to the radio access network. The scheduler assigns the service quality depending on the transmitted quality function.

Assigning a service quality to a wireless connection

A computer-implemented method of optimizing a usage distribution in a communications network uses a quantum concept processor. A set of traffic demands for a transfer of determined data volumes between origin nodes and destination nodes among the plurality of communication nodes is captured. The traffic demands are split into sub-demands. A set of optional communication paths for an individual routing of each sub-demand is specified. The edges within the set of optional communication paths are assigned a respective usage capacity limit. Fractional capacity usages of the edges are calculated based on the respective usage capacity limit. The calculated fractional capacity usages are formulated as terms of a quadratic stress function. An optimized routing is determined by using a quantum concept processor, thereby selecting for each sub-demand one communication path from the set of optional communication paths such that the quadratic stress function is minimized.

Method of optimizing a usage distribution in a communications network

A computer-implemented method optimizes a routing of data traffic in a communications network by using a quantum concept processor. A set of potential short communication paths among possible communication paths between respective origin nodes and respective destination nodes of captured traffic demands is specified. The edges within the set of potential short communication paths are assigned a respective usage capacity limit. Fractional capacity usages of the edges are calculated based on respective usage capacity limits of the edges. The calculated fractional capacity usages are formulated as terms of a quadratic stress function. An optimized routing is determined by using a quantum concept processor, thereby selecting for each traffic demand one short communication path from the set of potential short communication paths such that the quadratic stress function is minimized.

Method of optimizing a routing in a communications network

A method for controlling an autonomous vehicle includes: controlling, by a stationary control unit connected to a radio access network, an autonomous vehicle via a wireless connection of the autonomous vehicle to the radio access network, wherein the autonomous vehicle moves in a predefined path network; allocating, by the radio access network, spectral resources to the wireless connection while the autonomous vehicle is moving; and determining, by the stationary control unit, a path of the autonomous vehicle in the predefined path network depending on the spectral resources used by the wireless connection of the autonomous vehicle while moving along the determined path.

Controlling an autonomous vehicle via a radio access network

A method for allocating a spectral resource of a radio cell of a mobile communication network to a mobile application includes: establishing, by the mobile application, a wireless connection to an application backend via a radio access point of the radio cell of the mobile communication network; and allocating, by a scheduler of the mobile communication network, the spectral resource of the radio cell to the established wireless connection. An optimization service requested by the scheduler determines a minimum of an overall cost function, the overall cost function summing a plurality of cost values, wherein each cost value is related to a respective mobile application connected to the radio access point. The scheduler allocates the spectral resource depending on the determined minimum of the overall cost function.
