Disclosed is an electronic device comprising: a radio module designed to exchange information; an interface device designed to receive a SIM card, the interface device having a data interface, a clock interface, a reset interface and a supply interface designed to supply power to the SIM card; and a circuit board, on which the radio module and the interface device are arranged and electrically connected to one another; characterised in that the radio module has a voltage specification circuit and an associated voltage output, which voltage specification circuit is designed to specify an operating voltage for the SIM card, a fourth electrical connection having a decoupling circuit with power-limited output to the supply interface, which decoupling circuit is designed to decouple the voltage specification and energy supply of the SIM card from one another.

The present disclosure comprises a method, a communication module, and a system for transmitting diagnosis data of a field device that is connected to a superordinate unit via a communication loop. The communication module is connected to the communication loop in parallel with the field device. The method includes the continual storage of electrical energy in the communication module by a transducer unit within the communication module that captures an electrical and/or physical variable and converts it into electrical energy. The method includes polling the diagnosis data of the field device by the communication module and wireless transmission of the polled diagnosis data to a reception unit by the communication module.

A field device for determining and/or monitoring a physical or chemical, process variable in automation technology. The field device comprises: at least one microcontroller; a supply unit of limited capacity as primary voltage supply; and a detection circuit, which signals the microcontroller of a failure of the supply unit so early by means of a detection signal that sufficient time is available to take suitable safety measures, in order to avoid loss of data. The detection circuit is so embodied that a reference voltage required for detection of a voltage decline of the supply unit has an almost constant offset from the supply voltage of the supply unit and adjusts to the supply voltage, until the detection circuit, in the case of an abrupt subceeding of the reference voltage, or an abrupt voltage decline of the supply voltage, sends a detection signal to the microcontroller.

In case a status change has been reported, the wireless adapter queries for expanded status information of the field device.
