A system for categorizing, visualizing, and recommending cannabis products based on objective data of the chemical composition of products is described. This system allows cannabis products to be visualized and compared based on their chemical composition, even by laypeople with little or no knowledge of the underlying objective data. A recommendation system is built upon this which can recommend products for consumption, including a user interface for receiving user input, which includes at least one of demographic data, desired level of psychoactivity, or prior experience with the product, a merchant interface for receiving merchant input, including at least one of general data descriptive of the regulated product, lab data descriptive of the regulated products chemical composition, and user data descriptive of subjective effects of the regulated product on a user; and a decision engine making a recommendation of product according to correlation of the lab data with the user data.

The networked computing service may generate, or recommend generation of, a custom UI control that automates performance of the action. The networked computing service may automatically determine parameters of the action, and may determine alternative parameters and/or alternative actions if the action cannot be performed using the determined parameters. An electronic device is described that displays and enables interaction with custom user interface ('UI') elements. The electronic device may include a display, an actuatable button, and controls enabling user selection of individual custom UI elements. The device may determine a category of custom UI elements to display based on geolocation data, previous interactions with custom UI elements, user preferences, or other information, and may display a custom UI elements from the category. When the button is actuated, the electronic device causes an action associated with the displayed custom UI element to be performed. The electronic device may additionally display details regarding the action to be performed, status information regarding a previously performed action, or other related information.

The networked computing service may determine which of a set of custom UI controls to present based on criteria such as frequency or recency of recurring usage, a context or a category associated with the custom UI controls, user preferences, the status of a pending action, usage of similar custom UI controls by other users, or other criteria. The networked computing service may present an interface that enables further customization or modification of the custom UI controls.

Systems and methods are described for providing animated visual feedback in a manner that increases the likelihood that the feedback will be seen. When a touch-based interaction with a user interface element is detected, a position, orientation, and/or size of the gesturing user's hand and/or digit are determined by assessing factors such as the size and shape of the touched region on the touchscreen, the position of the user interface element relative to the edges of the touchscreen, the orientation of the touchscreen device, and other criteria. An eclipsed region of the touchscreen may be determined, and a starting coordinate for the animated visual feedback may be determined based on the eclipsed region. The animated feedback may be drawn for a determined duration, and may be reversed or erased if the touch-based interaction ceases before the duration is completed.
