In an example, there is provided a method and apparatus for controlling spit on page operation, the method comprising receiving at least one image to be printed, for each row of a plurality of rows of the image: identifying two or more pixels of the row of the image to be printed by a nozzle of a printhead, determining if a spacing between two consecutive pixels of the two or more pixels is greater than a threshold distance, and in response to a determination that the spacing between the two consecutive pixels is greater than the threshold distance, providing an indication that spit on page dots should be provided when printing the image.

Method and apparatus for printhead maintenance

An example of a printing fluid supply connector is described that has a first connector and a second connector, where each of the first and second connectors is to fluidly connect to a respective replaceable reservoir of printing fluid. The printing fluid supply connector also has an outlet to fluidly connect to a printer and a selector to selectively fluidly connect one of the first and second connectors to the outlet in response to an electrical control signal or to fluid pressure at the first and second connectors.

According to one example, there is provided a monitoring module for determining the status of electrical components in an array of N electrical components. The monitoring module comprises a resistance measurer to measure the resistance across a pair of diagnostic terminals, a comparator to compare the measured resistance with a set of reference resistances, and a status module to determine the status of at least one electrical component in the array based on the comparison.

An ink delivery system for a printer. In one embodiment, the system includes an ink supply that contains ink to be delivered to a printhead of the printer and an ink buffer positioned physically below the ink supply such that ink can flow to the ink buffer under gravity alone, the ink buffer being configured to be repeatedly filled with ink from the ink supply and to deliver that ink to the printhead.

A power supply circuit has parallel supply and control branches each with fuses, the power supply branch comprising at least one replaceable fuse. The supply branch is connected to one or more electrical components of an electrical device, such as the actuator and sensors of a printer, and the supply branch is connected to control or monitoring components. A circuit comprising lights indicates correct or faulty operation of the various parts of the supply circuit.

A connector for connecting to an ink container. In one embodiment, the connector includes a housing that defines an interior space, a latch lever pivotally mounted to the housing that is adapted to secure the connector to the ink container, and an internal switch provided within the interior space of the housing, the internal switch being configured to send a signal to a printer associated with the ink container when the switch is tripped, wherein the internal switch is tripped when the latch lever is pivoted by a user during disconnection of the connector from the ink container but before the connector is in fact disconnected.

A signal separation module includes a single-ended bidirectional pin coupled to a processing device, a single-ended unidirectional output pin coupled to a differential signal transceiver, a single-ended unidirectional input pin coupled to the differential signal transceiver, and signal separation logic. The signal separation logic is to detect a current flow condition that indicates the bidirectional pin is asserted by the processing device; assert, as a result of the existence of the current flow condition, the unidirectional output pin and prevent the unidirectional input pin from affecting the bidirectional pin; detect an opposite current flow condition that indicates that the unidirectional input pin is asserted by the differential signal transceiver; and assert, as a result of the existence of the opposite current flow condition, the bidirectional pin and prevent the assertion of the bidirectional pin from affecting the unidirectional output pin.

A bidirectional signal separation module includes a comparator having a first input node communicatively coupled to a bidirectional single-ended bus, a second input node communicatively coupled to a first voltage source, and an output node communicatively coupled to a unidirectional data transmission node; and a resistive network having a first node communicatively coupled to the second voltage source, a second node communicatively coupled to the bidirectional single-ended bus, a third node communicatively coupled to ground, and a fourth node communicatively coupled to an electronic switch. The electronic switch is configured to alternately couple the fourth node of the resistive network to the second voltage source or ground according to a voltage level on a unidirectional data receiving node.
