An adapter assembly is used to secure a base unit and a display unit to a panel, with the base unit including a housing, the panel including an opening formed in the panel, and the display unit including a body. The adapter assembly includes an adapter disposed between the base unit and the panel. The adapter includes a primary wall. One of the display unit and the adapter includes a formation that extends from the body of the display unit or the primary wall of the adapter, and the other of the display unit and the adapter includes a mechanism configured to engage and secure the display unit to the panel without disturbing a securement of the base unit to the adapter.

Adapter assembly for mounting a display

An intelligent electronic device () for metering a characteristic of electricity that has a rear opening () and a side opening () in a housing of the device for accepting a connector of an expansion module through one or the other opening. The device can be configured with an integrated display module () that protrudes through a panel of an enclosure, and in this configuration, the expansion module connects to the device through the rear opening of the housing. The device can also be configured to be mounted on a DIN rail, and in this configuration, the expansion module connects through the side opening of the housing. The same module can be used in either configuration, without requiring that different versions of the module be made for the different configurations and without having to mount the device in an awkward orientation that makes it difficult to access external connections around the housing.

A method, system and device for synchronizing a time period over which energy measurements are accumulated for an energy monitoring system including a plurality of energy monitoring devices is described. The method comprises transmitting a first radio frequency packet from a time reference device via at least a first and a second of the plurality of energy monitoring devices to a third of the plurality of energy monitoring devices. The method further comprises adjusting a time register within the third energy monitoring device based on the reception of the packet. The method further comprises accumulating a measure of energy consumption by the third energy monitoring device of a load coupled with the third energy monitoring device. The method further comprises transmitting the measure of energy consumption from the third energy monitoring device via at least a fourth and a fifth of the plurality of energy monitoring devices to a data aggregation device. The method further comprises identifying by the data aggregation device an aggregate measure of energy consumption consumed by the load over the time period.

Time coordinated energy monitoring system utilizing communications links

A shield that protects high-value input resistors in a power meter against unwanted effects due to electromagnetic interference from a nearby power supply and/or due to crosstalk from adjacent phases. The shield includes multiple printed circuit board shields that are arranged between each of the input resistors on a main printed circuit board in the power meter. Each PCB shield has a conductive layer that provides the shielding against unwanted energy. The resistors are arranged in a diagonal or parallel manner between each pair of PCB shields to prevent the resistor from movement, which prevents pin fatigue and fixes the value of the parasitic capacitance that is produced in the resistor-PCB-shield combination. In another configuration, the PCB shield is made of a flexible material, and snakes between and over the top or around the side ends of each resistor in a serpentine fashion, protecting the resistors from unwanted energies from both the top and the sides. The PCB shields disclosed herein eliminate variations in the percent error of the measurement phases, which contributes to achieving a highly accurate meter with an overall accuracy of less than 0.1%.

A sensor apparatus for measuring power parameters on a power conductor, such as a high voltage transmission line may include a corona structure, an electronics assembly and a conductor mountable device. The corona structure may define an outer boundary surrounding the electronics assembly and the conductor mountable device. The corona structure may shield the electronic assembly and conductor mountable device from a corona produceable with the power conductor. The conductor mountable device may be a power parameter measurement device, such as a current sensor assembly. The current sensor assembly may be a split-core design that includes multiple transformer cores. The electronics assembly and the conductor mountable device may powered from a line voltage suppliable on the power conductor. Data may be wirelessly transmitted and received with the sensor apparatus.
