A microstrip antenna array including: a thin substrate; two or more microstrip radiating patches placed on a first side of the substrate, each radiating patch including: an input port; a radiating patch width (WRP) extending in a longitudinal direction; a radiating patch length (LRP) extending in a transverse direction, wherein the transverse direction is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and wherein the longitudinal and transverse directions are in the plane of the radiating patch; a radiating patch transverse axis (TRP) along the midpoint of the radiating patch width; and a radiating patch longitudinal axis along the midpoint of the radiating patch length, wherein the two or more radiating patches are spaced in the longitudinal direction such that the radiating patch longitudinal axis of each radiating patch is aligned along a common longitudinal axis (C); and one or more parasitic patches placed on the first side of the substrate.

Microstrip patch antenna with increased bandwidth

Provided are embodiments for a system and a method for operating an omnidirectional antenna. Embodiments include operating a first antenna that includes a first input configured to receive an input signal, a plurality of subarrays configured for transmitting and receiving signals, and a ground plane of the first antenna. Embodiments also include operating a second antenna coupled to the first antenna that includes a second input configured to receive an input signal, a plurality of arms configured for transmitting and receiving signals, a ground plane of the second antenna, and coupling the ground plane of the first antenna and the ground plane of a second antenna.

Dual band omnidirectional antenna

An oscillator circuit includes an oscillator transistor (Q) having respective first, second, and control terminals, the oscillator transistor being arranged to generate a microwave oscillating signal at the first terminal. A surface integrated waveguide resonator (Y) is connected to the second terminal of the oscillator transistor (Q). An active bias circuit portion () including a negative feedback arrangement is between the first terminal of the oscillator transistor (Q) and the control terminal of the oscillator transistor (Q), the active bias circuit portion being arranged to supply a bias current to the control terminal of the oscillator transistor (Q). The bias current is dependent on a voltage at the first terminal of the oscillator transistor (Q) multiplied by a negative gain.

A microstrip DC block includes a first signal line having a first signal line end and a first centreline (C); a second signal line having a second signal line end and a second centreline (C); a first spur-line extending from the first signal line end towards the second signal line end; a first stepped impedance line extending from the first signal line end towards the second signal line end, wherein the first stepped impedance line is parallel to the first spur line; a second spur-line extending from the second signal line end towards the first signal line end; a second stepped impedance line extending from the second signal line end towards the first signal line end, wherein the second stepped impedance line is parallel to the second spur line, and wherein the second stepped impedance line is coupled to the first stepped impedance line.
