A preamble of physical layer (PHY) data unit includes a first legacy portion and a first non-legacy portion that follows the first legacy portion. The first non-legacy portion includes i) a first orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol that immediately follows the first legacy portion and that is modulated using binary phase shift keying (BPSK), and ii) a second OFDM symbol that immediately follows the first OFDM symbol and that is modulated using BPSK modulation rotated by 90 degrees (Q-BPSK). The modulation of the first and second OFDM symbols indicates to a receiver device that conforms to a first communication protocol that the data unit conforms to the first communication protocol. The first OFDM symbol being modulated using BPSK modulation causes a receiver device that conforms to a second communication protocol to determine that the PHY data unit conforms to a third communication protocol.

Physical layer frame format for WLAN

A first field of a preamble includes a plurality of indications of respective numbers of spatial or space-time streams for respective receivers to enable each receiver among the multiple receivers to determine a respective set of one or more training sequences, in a plurality of training sequences, that corresponds to the receiver. Methods and systems for providing beamforming feedback in a communication channel are disclosed. A data packet is received at a beamformee circuitry of the first communication device configured to generate beam steering data for use by a transmitter of a second communication device. Each of a plurality of tones of the received data packet is processed to generate a compressed steering matrix corresponding to the communication channel. In parallel to the processing of the received plurality of tones, an immediate feedback packet comprising a plurality of data symbols is constructed, where the data symbols include the generated compressed steering matrix. At least a first data symbol of the immediate feedback packet is transmitted prior to completing the processing of all the plurality of tones of the received data packet.

EHT padding and packet extension method and apparatus

Embodiments described herein provide systems for processing high efficiency SIGB (HE-SIGB) symbols and extracting resource unit (RU) information in down link orthogonal frequency division multiple access (DL-OFDMA) and multi-user multiple input multiple output (DL-MUMIMO) communication. An HE-SIGB symbol is processed based on an RU size mapping table. An RU counter is used to process entries in the RU size mapping table and determine the RU size and starting tone index of the intended RU. The RU parameters extracted from the HE-SIGB symbol are used to decode data symbols in the DL-OFDMA or DL-MUMIMO packet. Pilot tone indices of the intended User block and adjacent pilot tone indices are determined for improved carrier phase error estimation.

Flexible structured-pipelined CORDIC techniques efficiently perform various CORDIC operations and support different parameters for MIMO MEQ processing. The structured-pipelined CORDIC techniques simplify signal processing flow, unify input requirements and output delay, and simplify integration. Look-up table techniques provide quick generation of control signals, reduce design and verification efforts, and facilitate design automation. A method for deinterleaving a plurality of resource units (RUs) where each RU includes data and parameters. The method includes assigning each RU into one of a first deinterleaver and a second deinterleaver and storing the parameters of each respective RU to a respective buffer in an order. The method also includes processing the data of the respective RU in the one of the first deinterleaver and the second deinterleaver and upon completion of the processing of the data of a respective RU, outputting the data of the respective RU from the one of the first deinterleaver and the second deinterleaver into which the respective RU was assigned, outputting the parameters of the respective RU corresponding to one of the first deinterleaver and the second deinterleaver into which the respective RU was assigned, and aligning the parameters of the respective RU with the data of the respective RU based on the order of storage of the parameters in the respective buffer.

A communication device determines that a data rate of a data packet exceeds a threshold, and in response, lowers a processing speed of an equalizer device to prevent a buffer from overflowing. The buffer stores outputs generated by the equalizer device. A forward error correction code decoder device of the communication device processes outputs of the equalizer device corresponding to the data packet to generate decoded information corresponding to the data packet. The communication device transmits an acknowledgment packet to acknowledge the data packet such that transmission of the acknowledgment packet begins within required time period, defined by a communication protocol, after an end of the data packet.

A radiofrequency system includes a plurality of transceivers providing a plurality of channels, and circuitry configured to perform off-channel functions. A first subset of channels performs radiofrequency communication functions, and a second subset of channels provides signals for the off-channel functions. The first subset of channels may be provided by a first subset of transceivers, and the second subset of channels may be provided by a second subset of transceivers. A spectrum sensing unit may select between the first subset of transceivers and the second subset of transceivers. Systems and methods described herein provides a method for dynamically allocating an iteration number for a decoder. The method includes receiving, at an input buffer, an input signal including at least one data packet. The method further includes calculating a first iteration number for decoding the at least one data packet. The method further includes monitoring at least one of available space of the input buffer and available decoding time for the at least one data packet. The method further includes dynamically adjusting the first iteration number to a second iteration number based on the available space or the available decoding time to continue decoding the at least one data packet.
