The invention relates to a flame-proofed polymer composition that can be obtained form one or more &#x3b1;-olefin-vinyl acetate copolymers, having a vinyl acetate content of 40 to 90 wt %, relative to the total weight of the &#x3b1;-olefin vinyl acetate copolymers, and from a synergistic flame-proofing material combination, comprising, as component A, a phosphinic acid salt of the formula (I), where R, Rare C-C-alkyl, preferably C-C-alkyl, linear or branched; M is calcium, aluminum, zinc ions; m is 2 or 3; and, as component B, a metal hydroxide, preferably aluminum hydroxide (ATH).

Flame-proofed polymer compositions

Compositions comprising at least one thermoplastic polymer as component A, at least one C-C-&#x3b1;-olefin-vinyl acetate copolymer having vinyl acetate content of &#x3e;40% by weight as component B, at least one plastomer produced via metallocene catalysis and based on ethylene and on at least one C-C-olefin as component C, where component C differs from component A, at least one polyolefin homo- or copolymer modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or with a derivative thereof, as component D, at least one flame retardant as component E, and also optionally one or more further auxiliaries and additives, a process for producing the compositions of the invention, the use of the compositions of the invention as insulation materials or, respectively, sheathing materials for cables or lines, insulation materials or, respectively, sheathing materials for cables or lines, comprising the composition of the invention, and also cables or lines which comprise the composition of the invention.
