A safety apparatus is a terminal shield having an indication circuit incorporated therein. The safety apparatus is usable with a circuit interrupter to overlie one or more terminals of the circuit interrupter that are connected with line and load conductors and to thereby form a circuit interrupter apparatus. The safety apparatus can be employed at the line side of a circuit interrupter, at the load side of a circuit interrupter, or at both sides of a circuit interrupter. The safety apparatus can be provided as part of a new circuit interrupter apparatus or can be provided to retrofit existing circuit interrupters. The indication circuit advantageously outputs from a top surface of the terminal shield one of a visual indication and an audible indication when one or more terminals of the circuit interrupter are electrified, thereby easily conveying to a technician the portions of the circuit interrupter that are electrified.

A laminate for bedding, padding upholstering and like applications by feeding an indeterminate length of a first material along a predetermined first path of travel from a source of the first material to a downstream assembly area. Feeding an indeterminate length of second material along a predetermined second path of travel from a source of the second material to the downstream assembly area. Depositing a multiplicity of substantially yieldable cushioning materials upon an upper surface of one of the first and second indeterminate lengths of material during the feeding thereof between the respective sources and the assembly area. Thereafter, sandwiching the cushioning materials between the indeterminate lengths of first and second materials to form a laminate therefrom, and rolling the laminate into a roll. The cushioning materials are foam latex and/or down and the first and second lengths of material are polyester fiber material and/or convoluted foam.

Laminate for bedding, padding, upholstering and like applications

A method of manufacturing a laminate particularly adapted for bedding, padding upholstering and like applications by feeding an indeterminate length of a first material along a predetermined first path of travel from a source of the first material to a downstream assembly area. Processes and algorithms to determine and correct key error sources in an inertial navigator. These key error sources are azimuth misalignment error and all gyro drift rate errors ('North', 'East' and 'Down'). Thus the invention provides improved directional accuracy and improved navigation performance. The processes and algorithms can be implemented within the system computer to determine and correct for the system error sources thus determined automatically.

Automatic correction of key error sources in an inertial navigator

A process and algorithms to determine and correct for azimuth-axis drift rate in an inertial navigator. The process and algorithms may be implemented as an automatic sequence within the system computer to determine and correct the system errors thus determined. These actions provide the system with improved directional accuracy and improved navigation performance.

Azimuth-axis drift rate determination in an inertial navigator

A process and algorithms to determine and correct for the error in azimuth alignment and the errors in 'North' and 'East' Gyro Drift Rates in an inertial navigator which has been aligned via gyrocompassing, or via the 'Stored Heading' technique, with the system 'at rest'. The process and algorithms may be implemented as an automatic sequence within the system computer to determine and correct the system errors thus determined. These actions make the inertial navigator more accurately represented by the model of an ideal navigation system with a pure and singular initial azimuth misalignment error. Thus the inertial navigator's inital azimuth misalignment error can be more accurately determined and corrected by the model.

Transfer apparatus for use with an AC generator having a field winding, the DC energization of which controls the output of the generator. Associated with the generator are first and second voltage regulators each including means for sensing the output of the generator and means for varying the DC energization of the generator field winding to regulate the output of the generator to a respective reference level for each voltage regulator. The transfer apparatus includes a circuit for generating a first signal as a function of the generator output as sensed by the first voltage regulator sensing means and a second signal as a function of the generator output as sensed by the second voltage regulator sensing means. Another circuit independently produces an additional signal to which the first and second signals ordinarily have a predetermined relationship. A further circuit selects the first or second voltage regulator to energize the generator field winding. The selection depends on whether or not there is a departure of the first signal from the predetermined relationship to the additional signal when the second signal maintains its predetermined relationship thereto. Other transfer apparatus and regulating apparatus and methods are also disclosed.

Transfer apparatus, regulating apparatus and methods

A protective shield for a felt tip pen is provided for spacing the ink-laden felt nib of the pen from a ruling edge to prevent ink from contacting or bleeding under the ruling edge. The protective shield includes a relatively thin plate substantially overlying one side of the felt nib and including a relatively short wing projecting at least slightly beyond one longitudinal margin of the overlaid side. In use, the plate engages the ruling edge with its outboard face to space the felt nib therefrom when the felt nib is moved over a writing surface in a direction generally parallel with the plate. Alternatively, when the felt nib is moved over a writing surface in a direction generally perpendicular to the plate, the free marginal edge of the wing engages the ruling edge to maintain the nib in spaced relation therewith. In some embodiments, the protective shield is adapted for relatively easy installation and/or removal with respect to the felt nib, whereas in another embodiment the shield is applied directly to the nib as a coating.
