Various embodiments for creating media clips are disclosed. In one example, a method is performed by a server for managing the creation and distribution of media clips, where the server associates a content capture device with an event, the content capture device for recording at least a portion of the event, receives a tag notification from a content tagging device via a network interface, generates a media clip creation command to the content capture device via the network interface, sends the media clip creation command to the content capture device, and receives a media clip created by the content capture device in response to receiving the media clip creation command.

Media clip creation and distribution systems, apparatus, and methods

A system and method for presenting information relating to heart data can involve operations including identifying arrhythmia events in physiological data obtained for a living being, receiving human assessments of at least a portion of the arrhythmia events, determining a measure of correlation between the human assessments and the identified events, and selectively presenting information regarding the identified events based on the measure of correlation. The operations can also include identifying atrial fibrillation events in physiological data obtained for a living being, obtaining heart rate data for the living being, and presenting information regarding the heart rate data and duration of the atrial fibrillation events together with a common time scale to pictographically represent heart rate trend with atrial fibrillation burden during a defined time period.

Various operations may be performed based on a distance-related function associated with two or more devices. For example, an association procedure for two or more devices may be based on one or more determined distances. Similarly, presence management may be based on one or more determined distances. A distance-related function may take various form including, for example, a distance between devices, two or more distances between devices, a rate of change in a relative distance between devices, relative acceleration between devices, or some combination of two or more of the these distance-related functions.

Various embodiments for creating media clips are disclosed. In one embodiment, media clips are created by a server in response to receiving a primary media recording of at least a portion of an event from a first content capture device, and activity identification information from a content tagging device, the activity identification information comprising a selection time when an activity indicator was selected by a user in response to an activity that occurred during the event. A processor executes machine-executable instructions stored in memory that causes the server to determine whether the first primary media recording is associated with the event, and create a first media clip from the first primary media recording when the first primary media recording is determined to be associated with the event.

System and method of associating devices based on actuation of input devices and signal strength

Various embodiments for creating media clips are disclosed. Media clips are created by content capture and tagging devices as events are recorded by the content capture and tagging devices. Users select one or more predefined activity indictors displayed on their content capture and tagging devices as activities occur during events, or as recordings are viewed after events have concluded. Media clips are then created based on the recordings and the activity type associated with each activity indicator. The media clips are then provided to a server, where they are stored in association with activity identification information, such as an activity type based on the selected activity indicator. The media clips may then be searched and accessed by providing key words to the server.

Distance-based presence management

Various embodiments for creating media clips are disclosed. Media clips are created by a server in response to receiving primary media recordings from one or more content capture devices or content capture and tagging devices, and one or more instances of activity identification information from content tagging devices. The server creates media clips from by copying portions of the primary media recordings in accordance with the activity identification information, such as a time that a user selected an activity indicator displayed on a respective content tagging device. The media clips are then stored in association with at least users who provided the activity identification information to the server.

A method for controlling a controlled device with a device wearable on a portion of a body is disclosed. The method includes detecting relative movement between the wearable device and the portion of the body; and generating an indication of the relative movement for use in controlling the controlled device. A method for controlling a controlled device with a device wearable on a portion of a body is also disclosed. The method includes receiving a message indicating a relative movement between the wearable device and the portion of the body; and generating an action to control the controlled device based on a command associated with the relative movement. Apparatuses for performing the methods are disclosed herein as well.

Method and apparatus for distributed user interfaces using wearable devices to control mobile and consumer electronic devices

Various methods for controlling a device is disclosed including dynamically selecting a set of mappings defining how a gesture made by a movement of at least one wearable item will be interpreted as one or more commands; determining whether the gesture has a mapping in the set of mappings; and translating the gesture into a command for the device based on the determination. Interpreting movements of a wearable item as gestures associated with a command to control a controlled device is also disclosed that includes sensing a movement of the wearable item in context as being indicative of a gesture relating to the command based on the first context. A method for communicating control information by a wearable device is further disclosed including determining an agreed upon set of control gestures between first and second devices, wherein the control gestures are performable using the first device and are supportable by the second device; and participating in a control sequence to control the second device via a wireless transmission corresponding to at least one of the control gestures to be performed using the first device.

Method and apparatus for controlling mobile and consumer electronic devices

A method for communicating control information by a wearable device is disclosed. The method includes determining a first movement according to a first degree of freedom as being gesture-related and a second movement according to a second degree of freedom as being gesture-related; generating a first set of possibly performed gestures based on the first movement; generating a second set of possibly performed gestures based on the second movement; inferring, from the first and second sets, whether the first movement is representative of an intended command; and transmitting information based on the inference. An apparatus for performing the method is also disclosed.
