A system for controlling load current in a voltage converter includes a current normalization module that receives a first measurement corresponding to the load current, receives a second measurement corresponding to an inductor current, and matches a first gain of the first measurement corresponding to the load current to a second gain of the second measurement corresponding to the inductor current to generate a normalized load current. A feed-forward generation module receives the normalized load current from the current normalization module and generates a load current feed-forward (LCFF) signal based on the normalized load current. A duty cycle generation module generates a duty cycle used to control the voltage converter based on a commanded output voltage of the voltage converter and the LCFF signal.

Systems and methods for feed-forward control of load current in DC to DC buck converters

A system includes a plurality of channels, a parameter calculator, and an equalizer. Each channel receives a plurality of input signals that represent an input to a speaker. Each channel generates real and imaginary components of a transfer function of the speaker based on the plurality of input signals. The parameter calculator calculates a plurality of parameters of the speaker based on the real and imaginary components of the transfer function received from each channel. The equalizer adjusts the input to the speaker based on the parameters.

An error determination module determines a voltage error based on an output voltage of a DC to DC converter, an estimated output voltage of the DC to DC converter, and a product of a predetermined delay value and a difference between a duty cycle and a target voltage. A system includes an estimation module and a current measuring module. The estimation module estimates current through an inductor in an output stage of a power supply using a model of the current and generates an estimated current. The current measuring module measures the current through the inductor and generates a measured current. The estimation module adjusts the model based on the measured current.

Inductor current measurement for DC to DC converters

A notch filter includes first, second, and third difference modules, a delay module, and a gain module. The first difference module calculates a first difference between a control signal in a pulse width modulation (PWM) system and a feedback value. The second difference module calculates a second difference between the first difference and a delayed second difference. The delay module generates the delayed second difference by introducing a one period delay to the second difference, wherein the period is based on a Nyquist frequency of the control signal. The gain module generates the feedback value by applying a gain to the delayed second difference. The third difference module generates a filtered control signal by calculating a difference between the signal and the feedback value, wherein the filtered control signal is used to control an operating parameter of the PWM system.

Notch filter for control signals in PWM controlled systems

A feed-forward control system for load current in a direct current (DC) to DC converter includes a current normalization module, a feed-forward generation module, and a duty cycle generation module. The current normalization module generates a normalized load current by matching a gain of a measured load current to a gain of an inductor current. The feed-forward generation module that generates a load current feed-forward (LCFF) signal based on the normalized load current. The duty cycle generation module generates a duty cycle for the DC to DC converter based on a commanded output voltage and the LCFF signal.

A system includes a sinc filter module and a cyclic integrator module. The sinc filter module (i) determines a direct current (DC) voltage component of an error between a measured output voltage of a switched-mode power supply and a reference voltage and (ii) determines a signal with ripple by subtracting the determined DC voltage component from the error. The cyclic integrator module (i) applies a learning gain to a difference between the determined signal with ripple and a predicted ripple, (ii) performs integration of each of N segments of the gain-applied difference, and (iii) generates the predicted ripple by reconstructing the N integrated segments, wherein N is an integer greater than one.

System and method for predicting output voltage ripple and controlling a switched-mode power supply

A first control system for a power supply includes a switch-mode DC-DC converter module and an FET gate drive module. The switch-mode DC-DC converter module receives an input voltage and generates first and second voltages, the first voltage powering a DC-DC control module. The FET gate drive module selectively drives a plurality of FETs of the power supply using the second voltage thereby generating a desired output voltage from the input voltage. A second control system is directed to driving the second voltage to a desired gate voltage, wherein the desire gate voltage is determined based on at least one of a plurality of operating parameters. A third control system includes controlling first and second voltages generated by a SIDO voltage converter based on the first and second voltages and a damping factor, and generating the damping factor based on current flowing through the inductor of the SIDO voltage converter.

Systems for integrated switch-mode DC-DC converters for power supplies

A control system for a DC to DC converter includes a predicted state generator module, a voltage estimation module, an error module, and a pulse width modulation (PWM) module. During a prior sampling period, the predicted state generator module generates a predicted capacitor voltage and a predicted capacitor current for a current sampling period. The voltage estimation module generates an estimated value of an output voltage of the DC to DC converter during the current sampling period based on the predicted capacitor current, the predicted capacitor voltage, a delay value, and a duty cycle value for the prior sampling period. The error module generates a voltage error value based on difference between a measured value of the output voltage and the estimated value. The PWM module controls the duty cycle of the DC to DC converter based on the voltage error value.

Delay compensation systems and methods for DC to DC converters

A system includes an input selection module, a multiplier selection module, a multiplier module, an adding module, a plurality of accumulators, and an estimation module. The input selection module selects input signals including a duty cycle signal and current and voltage signals of a power supply. The multiplier selection module selects inputs from sine and cosine generator. The multiplier module multiplies the selected input signals by the inputs from the sine and cosine generator to generate products. The adding module adds the products to generate sums. The plurality of accumulators accumulates the sums. The estimation module estimates values of a plurality of components including an inductance, a capacitance, and a resistance of the power supply based on the sums accumulated in the plurality of accumulators.

Multi-mode parameter analyzer for power supplies

A current share system for providing current to a load includes a first power supply module that controls a first voltage converter to provide a first current to the load, that transmits synchronization information using a first pin, and that transmits at least one second type of information using the first pin. A second power supply module receives the synchronization information at a second pin, receives the at least one second type of information at the second pin, and controls a second voltage converter to provide a second current to the load based on the synchronization information and the at least one second type of information.

An optical image stabilization system for a camera module is disclosed. The stabilization system comprises a voice coil motor (VCM), at least one digital gyroscope for receiving signals from the VCM, and an angular velocity sensor for receiving signals from the digital gyroscope and outputting an angular position error signal. The stabilization system further comprises signal processing logic for receiving the error signal, and comparing the error signal to a reference signal and providing a stabilized image based upon that comparison, wherein the hard-coded logic, digital gyroscope and rate and position sensor resides on the same chip.

Optical image stabilization in a digital still camera or handset

A system includes an averaging module, a high pass filter module, a first estimation module, a sensing module, and a combining module. The averaging module receives an output voltage of a power supply and that generates an average output voltage. The high pass filter module receives an average switching voltage used to control switches in an output stage of the power supply and filters a difference between the average output voltage and the average switching voltage. The estimation module estimates a first filtered current through an inductor in the output stage based on an output of the high pass filter module. The sensing module senses voltage across the inductor and estimates a second current through the inductor. The low pass filter module filters the second current. The combining module combines the first filtered current and the second filtered current to generate an estimated current through the inductor.

A photonic switch for an optical communication network includes a matrix of actuator-mirror assemblies and a corresponding matrix of optical ports. A first one of the actuator-mirror assemblies directs a beam of light received from an input optical port to a reference mirror, where it is reflected to a second actuator-mirror assembly that redirects the beam to an output optical port. Each of the actuator-mirror assemblies includes a mirror-coil assembly mounted to a gimbal, with stationary magnets being positioned adjacent a corresponding one of the coils such that when current flows through the coils a force is generated that causes the mirror-coil assembly to tilt. A method for maximizing light transmission through an optical switch which includes a first mirror to direct a beam of light received from an input optical port to a second mirror that redirects the beam of light to an output optical port, the first and second mirrors each being pivotally actuated in first and second directions. The input and output mirrors are simultaneously moved through a sequence of coordinate positions about an origin, the input and output mirrors moving in both the first and second directions, with a light intensity value being read at each coordinate position to find a maximum light intensity value.
