The gateway controller is further configured to add one or more controllers to the local mesh network.

A system that includes a plurality of controllers that are each controller is configured to operate at least a portion of a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. The system further includes a network provisioning device that is configured to establish a peer-to-peer connection with a controller. The controller is not associated with any wireless networks. The device is further configured to send a request to the controller to identify a wireless network that is associated with the local area network and is in range of the controller. The device is further configured to obtain network credentials for the identified wireless network and to send the network credentials to the controller to join the provisioned mesh network. The controller is configured to use the network credentials to join a provisioned mesh network.

Integrating network devices with a provisioned mesh network for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems

In an embodiment, a multiple-antenna heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a first antenna disposed along a return airflow path from an enclosed space to the multiple-antenna HVAC system, where the multiple-antenna HVAC system supplies conditioned air to the enclosed space. The multiple-antenna HVAC system also includes a second antenna disposed outside the return airflow path. The multiple-antenna HVAC system also includes a controller in communication with the first antenna and the second antenna, where the controller wirelessly communicates via the first antenna and the second antenna.

The network device is further configured to send the network credentials to the controller to join a provisioned mesh network. The controller is configured to propagate the network credentials to other controllers within the unprovisioned mesh network.

Provisioning wireless mesh networks for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems

A system that includes a plurality of controllers that are each controller is configured to operate at least a portion of includes a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. The system further includes a gateway controller that is configured to determine a mesh network size for a local mesh network, to broadcast the mesh network size to other gateway controllers within a local area network, and to receive mesh network size information from the other gateway controllers. The gateway controller is further configured to compute an average mesh network size for the local area network and to compare the mesh network size for the local mesh network to the average mesh network size. The gateway controller is further configured to modify the number of controllers within the local mesh network based on the comparison.

Techniques are provided for selecting channels for use by access points operating in a wireless local area network. Metrics are computed for at least one set of radio frequency (RF) channels, wherein the set of RF channels comprises at least two RF channels in a frequency band that are available for use by a wireless network for a wider bandwidth mode that combines bandwidth of two or more RF channels. Alignment of individual primary and secondary RF channels is determined in the set of RF channels for operation of at least first and second wireless networks. A bias is applied to the metrics for each RF channel that is a member of the set of RF channels for the primary channel depending on alignment of the primary and secondary channels of the respective first and second wireless networks to produce adjusted metrics, based on which RF channels are assigned.

Dynamic channel assignment for WLAN deployments with IEEE 802.11ac access points

Dynamic bandwidth selection techniques are provided for a plurality of wireless access point devices that operate in a wireless local area network. Each access point device is capable of serving wireless client devices with a bandwidth from a set of possible bandwidths associated with one or multiple contiguous or non-contiguous radio frequency channels. A bias is generated based on determined type of traffic or client composition for each access point device, the bias favoring a channel assignment that results in a particular bandwidth in the set of bandwidths. The bias is applied to metrics representing severity and degree of interference for each channel to generate adjusted metrics. A bandwidth from the set of possible bandwidths is selected for each access point device based on the adjusted metrics.

During operation each ACK/NAK feedback () comprises two fields (-). Each field corresponds to the status of previously-received data (e.g., slot, frame, TTI, . . . , etc.). In a first embodiment, fieldcorresponds to the current received data status, while fieldcorresponds to the previous received data status if a NAK misinterpretation error occurs. If the receiver detects no misinterpretation error, the second field is simply left blank. Because each ACK/NAK feedback will comprise the reception status of currently received data, and prior-received data, a transmitter has two chances to receive the NAK/ACK if a NAK misinterpretation error occurs.
