A thermoplastic composition includes from about 30 wt % to about 95 wt % poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), and from about 5 wt % to about 70 wt % of a poly(carbonate-siloxane) copolymer having a siloxane content of from about 25 wt % to about 45 wt %. A method of making a thermoplastic composition includes: (a) combining from about 30 wt % to about 95 wt % poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and from about 5 wt % to about 70 wt % of a poly(carbonate-siloxane) copolymer having a siloxane content of from about 25 wt % to about 45 wt % to form a mixture; and melt processing the mixture to polymerize it and form the thermoplastic composition.

Transparent and flexible blends of PMMA and polycarbonate-siloxane copolymer

A composition including, based on a total weight of the composition: 30 to 60 wt % of polycarbonate; 20 to 40 wt % of polybutylene terephthalate; 5 to 40 wt % of carbon fiber; 1 to 10 wt % of an ethylene acrylic ester terpolymer; and less than 5 wt % of glass fiber.

A polyimide composition includes 1 to 99 weight percent, preferably 70 to 99 weight percent, more preferably 75 to 95 weight percent of a first polyimide; and 1 to 99 weight percent, preferably 1 to 30 weight percent, more preferably 2 to 25 weight percent of a second polyimide, wherein the first polyimide and the second polyimide are different, and wherein the polyimide composition has a melt flow rate that is greater than a melt flow rate of the first polyimide and less than a melt flow rate of the second polyimide; an apparent viscosity that is less than an apparent viscosity of the first polyimide and less than an apparent viscosity of the second polyimide; and a notched Izod impact strength that is greater than a notched Izod impact strength of the first polyimide and greater than a notched Izod impact strength of the second polyimide.

Linear and branched polyimide composition

An article includes at least two contiguous layers containing a composition that includes a branched polycarbonate, optionally a linear carbonate-containing polymer, and 0 to less than 5 weight percent filler. The composition is characterized by an average mole percent branching of 0.06 to 2.4 mole percent, which is calculated as 100 times moles of branched carbonate units in the branched polycarbonate divided by the sum of moles of linear carbonate units in the branched polycarbonate and the optional linear carbonate-containing polymer. The composition is further characterized by a melt flow rate of 1 to 20 grams per 10 minutes, determined according to ASTM D1238-13 at 300&#xb0; C. and 1.2 kilogram load. Also described is a method of additive manufacturing utilizing the composition.

A branched polyimide of the formula (I) wherein G is a group having a valence of t, present in an amount of 0.01 to 10 mol %, or 0.05 to 5 mol %, or 0.1 to 4 mol %, or 0.1 to 3 mol %, each of Q, M, D, V, and R are as defined herein, q is 0 or 1, m is 0 or 1, d is 0 or 1, p is 1 or 2, t is 2 to 6, preferably 2 to 4, and each n is independently the same or different, and is 1 to 1,000, provided that the total of all values of n is greater than 4, wherein the branched polyimide has a zero-shear viscosity in a range from 500 to 15,000 Pa&#xb7;s, a rheology ratio of 1.1 to 5, and a strain hardening ratio of 1 to 6.

A thermoplastic composition includes: from about 5 wt % to about 70 wt % poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA); from about 15 wt % to about 50 wt % of a first poly(carbonate-siloxane) copolymer having a siloxane content of from about 35 wt % to about 45 wt %; and from about 10 wt % to about 45 wt % of a second poly(carbonate-siloxane) copolymer. Polycarbonate compositions with high flame retardance are disclosed. The compositions include a polycarbonate having repeating units derived from a monomer with an ester side group, and also include a flame retardant additive. These compositions may be further blended with another polycarbonate. The resulting compositions have high flame retardance and improved anti-drip properties.

Methods for measuring certain properties of a crosslinked polycarbonate are disclosed. The storage modulus of a crosslinked polycarbonate is measured over a specified temperature range, and the average magnitude of the storage modulus over that temperature range is obtained. The average magnitude can be correlated to both crosslinking within the polycarbonate, and to the flame performance of the crosslinked polycarbonate.
