Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for sorting one or more files hosted by a collaborative application. In one aspect, one or more activity signals associated with one or more files hosted by the collaborative application may be received from a substrate. An activity-based sort order may be determined using at least a combination of the one or more activity signals. The activity-based sort order may be applied to sort the one or more files hosted by the collaborative application for display in a user interface to an activity object of the collaborative application.

Activity based sorting in collaborative applications

A computing device for organizing a collaborative workspace for a user implements providing, using a display of the computing device, an interactive user interface associated with the collaborative workspace in which the user may work on a shared task in a coordinated fashion with other users; identifying, based on one or more factors, one or more activities specific to the user from within the collaborative workspace; assigning the identified one or more activities to a catch-up list associated with the user; displaying, within the interactive user interface, the catch-up list; detecting that at least one of the one or more activities has been addressed from within the collaborative workspace or the catch-up list; and updating, based on the detection, the collaborative workspace and the catch-up list.

Managing a collaborative workspace to identify relevant activities and present the relevant activities to a user

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for determining one or more relevant activities to surface for a user of one or more files hosted by a collaborative application. In one aspect, a set of collaborative activities that are applied by one or more users to one or more files hosted by the collaborative application may be captured. The set of collaborative activities may be analyzed in relation to the user of the one or more files hosted by the collaborative application. At least some activities in the set of collaborative activities may be identified as belonging to one or more relevance categories. A prioritization may be assigned to the at least some activities that belong to the one or more relevance categories.

Catch up heuristics for collaborative application environments

A method for generating a comment capsule for a content segment includes receiving the comment related to the content segment, receiving data associated with the comment, the data including at least one of an identifier for the content segment to which the comment relates, an identifier for a user generating the comment, and a time at which the comment was generated, generating display data for displaying the comment in a comment capsule, and transmitting the display data for displaying the comment capsule in a user interface screen associated with the content segment. The comment capsule is displayed on the user interface screen inline with the content segment, and an appearance of the comment capsule is dynamically changeable based on at least one of a number of comments received for the content segment, a size of the content segment, and a read status of the comment.

Method and system of managing and displaying comments

A system and method for identifying relevant content from other documents and presenting candidate documents/content in a document authoring application is described. A computer-implemented method includes performing an analysis of text of a document being authored by a user with a document authoring application, searching a document library for content elements and documents based on the analysis of the text, identifying candidate documents and candidate content based on the searching, presenting a list of candidate documents or candidate content with the document authoring application, receiving a selection of a candidate document or candidate content from the list in the document authoring application, and including an instance of the selected candidate document or candidate content in the document.

Content element recommendation system

A system and method for aggregating and tracking content is described. In one aspect, a computer-implemented method includes forming a consolidated graphical user interface that tracks activities related to a project identifier. The project identifier identifies aggregated content. A project search query is received on the consolidated graphical user interface. The system identifies the project identifier based on the project search query, and presents at least one of a content item, a file, a folder, a user identifier, a user message, a meeting identifier, and a website identifier associated with the project identifier. The system registers selected items with the project identifier with a user of the consolidated graphical user interface, and forms the aggregated content assigned to the project identifier and to the user based on the registered selection.

Project aggregation and tracking system

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for merging versions and activities associated with a file into a history feed and displaying the history feed on a user interface of a client computing device. In one aspect, a file is identified and activities associated with the file are also identified. It may be determined whether the file has at least one activity. When it is determined that the file has at least one activity, at least one actionable history element for the at least one activity is generated. Additionally, the generated history elements are merged to generate a history feed. The history feed is displayed on a user interface. The history feed may be displayed with an application that has opened the file.

Examples of the disclosure determine the current context of a user or a wearable device of the user. User input is received to select one or more of context-dependent events from a plurality of past, current and future events. In some examples, one or more events from the plurality of past, current and future events and a part of the current context are captured by sensors available on the wearable device. Responsive to receiving the user input, one or more of the plurality of events are selected based on the determined current context and a direction of the user input. At least one of the selected one or more of the plurality of events is displayed on the wearable device of the user.

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for displaying a touchable user interface of a display device and displaying a user interface progress experience on the touchable user interface. In one aspect, available application space on the display device may be identified. An amount of available application space may be comparted with an amount of space required for one or more user interface elements. A visible display of the one or more user interface elements may be adjusted based on the amount of available application space compared to the amount of space required for the one or more user interface elements. In another aspect, an action command associated with the one or more user interface elements may be selected and performed. While the selected action command is being performed and when a threshold value has been met, the user interface progress experience may be displayed.

Smart and scalable touch user interface display

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for creating a file activity feed for display on a user interface of a client computing device. In one aspect, data comprising a plurality of activities associated with a file may be obtained. Two or more activities from the plurality of activities may be grouped into a single module of work for display within the file activity feed. The file activity feed may be displayed on the user interface of the client computing device. In some cases, the file activity feed includes one or more file activity elements including at least the single module of work. In some cases, the file activity feed includes a filter icon and a query feature. The filter icon may provide one or more filter preferences for filtering the file activity feed. The query feature may facilitate querying the file activity feed.

File activity feed for smartly grouping activities into distinct modules

To enable prompt presentation of a user interface that displays documents that other users have accessed or edited, distribution of document activity indicators is performed in a proactive manner such that the document activity indicators are already available at a time when such a user interface is to be presented. Document activity triggers the creation of corresponding document activity identifiers, which are distributed to the workspaces of one or more users in accordance with document activity itself, the type of activity, the user performing the activity, a user who initially created the document, or combinations thereof. When another user utilizes a content creation computer application program, the activity by other users is selectively reflected within the user interface presented by such a content creation computer application program.

Proactive staged distribution of document activity indicators

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for creating a file activity feed for display on a user interface of a client computing device. In one aspect, data comprising a plurality of activities associated with a file may be obtained. A timestamp associated with a user identity of the file may be identified. One or more missed activities (e.g., those that occurred since a user was away from the file) may be identified from the plurality of activities based on the identified timestamp. It may be determined which missed activities of the one or more missed activities are relevant to a user associated with the user identity. The one or more missed activities determined to be relevant to the user associated with the user identity may be displayed within the file activity feed on the user interface of the client computing device.
