As provided herein, a first device may be registered as authorized to authenticate a user login into a service from a second device (e.g., a smart phone may be used to log the user into a webmail service on a computer without the user having to enter a password through the computer). Responsive to the user attempting to access the service through the second device, a login interface may be displayed on the first device. The user may confirm or deny that the user wants to log into the service on the second device, thus allowing the user to seamlessly log into the service on the second device (e.g., without entering a password) while mitigating unauthorized logins into the service from unknown devices. Further, the user may use the first device to delegate the authority to authenticate the user login into the service to one or more other devices.

Disclosed are systems and methods for improving interactions with and between computers in an authentication system supported by or configured with personal computing devices, servers and/or platforms. The systems interact to identify and retrieve data across platforms, which data can be used to improve the quality of data used in processing interactions between or among processors in such systems. The disclosed systems and methods provide advanced, computerized security features that dynamically, in real-time, determine parameters that must be entered in order for a user to login to a system or platform, as well as the quantity and order such parameters must be entered. The disclosed systems and methods involve computerized mechanisms for authenticating a user or device for which access to a web-based resource is desired. Requested credentials in accordance with the dynamically determined manner in which such credentials are automatically determined and requested must be appropriately entered.

Computerized systems and methods for authenticating users on a network device via dynamically allocated authenticating state machines hosted on a computer network

In one embodiment, a user identifier associated with a user account is received. Indications of a plurality of authentication mechanisms available for authentication are provided for display via the client device. Input indicating a number of authentication mechanisms to be used for authentication in association with the user account is received from the client device, wherein the input includes a selection of one or more of the plurality of authentication mechanisms. Information is stored in association with the user account, where the information indicates the number of authentication mechanisms to be used for authentication in association with the user account and indicates the selected authentication mechanisms. At least a subset of the selected authentication mechanisms are used for authentication in association with the user account.
