Spatially dependent correction of magnetic field sensor readings

An angular detection system including a magnet and sensors is disclosed. The magnet can be located on a rotating component and the sensors can be located on a stationary component, or vice versa. The magnet can generate a plurality of magnetic flux lines. The plurality of sensors can be located and spatially separated along the motion path of the magnet for detecting the magnetic flux densities. The strength of the magnetic flux lines sensed by a given sensor can be used to determine the location of the magnet along its motion path. The plurality of sensors can generate one or more signals indicative of the strength of the sensed magnetic field lines. Based on the strength of the magnetic flux lines, the location of the magnet, or both, the system can determine the angle of rotation of the device by using a polynomial function or a look-up table.

Angle detection of a rotating system using a single magnet and multiple hall sensors

A digital-printing substrate and method of improving adhesion of a substrate to an liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink in LEP printing both employ a composite coating. The composite coating includes from 4.5% to 9.5% by weight of a mineral pigment and from 0.5% to 2% by weight of an organic binder uniformly dispersed in water. The mineral pigment has a particle size less than 1 micron. The organic binder comprises a hydroxylated polymer having an average molecular weight greater than 50,000. A weight percentage of hydroxyl groups in the hydroxylated polymer is equal to or greater than a weight percentage of acidic groups in an LEP ink. The composite coating enhances adhesion of the LEP ink to the substrate comprising the composite coating dried on a surface of the substrate.

Composite coating and substrate used in liquid electrophotographic printing and method

An electronic device may be provided with an electronic compass. The electronic compass may include magnetic sensors. The magnetic sensors may include thin-film magnetic sensor elements such as giant magnetoresistance sensor elements. Magnetic flux concentrators may be used to guide magnetic fields through the sensor elements. To reduce offset in the electronic compass, the magnetic flux concentrators may be demagnetized by applying a current to a coil in the housing. The coil may be formed from loops of metal traces within a printed circuit or other loops of conductive paths. Magnetic flux concentrators may have ring shapes. A ring-shaped magnetic flux concentrator may be formed from multiple thin stacked layers of soft magnetic material separated by non-magnetic material.

A digital printing system includes components to apply an ink layer on a substrate, and a deinking applicator. The deinking applicator includes a reservoir and a roller. The reservoir is to contain a deinking solution. The roller is positioned to receive the deinking solution from the reservoir and to coat the substrate with the deinking solution prior to the application of the ink layer or subsequent to the application of the ink layer.

Polymer coated toner pigments for electrophotographic printing

Methods and devices for measuring conductivity of ink in a printing system are disclosed. An embodiment of the method is used with a printing system having a developer roller, wherein the ink is formed on the developer roller using electrostatic forces and is used to print on a substrate. A first current charges the developer roller during the printing. The first current is measured and the conductivity of the ink is determined, wherein the conductivity is proportional to the square of the first current.

Method for measuring conductivity of ink

An ink dispersion includes an ink vehicle and a colorant dispersed in the ink vehicle. The ink vehicle includes a non-ionic surfactant and a solvent. The non-ionic surfactant has an HLB value ranges from about 5 to about 16, and is chosen from: i) a material represented by one of the formulas R&#x2014;O&#x2014;(OR)&#x2014;H, R&#x2014;(OR)&#x2014;OH or R&#x2014;CH&#x2014;(OR)&#x2014;OH, wherein: Ris chosen from a) a linear or cyclic alkyl group including from 3 to 20 carbon atoms, or b) a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group including from 6 to 18 carbon atoms, Ris chosen from CHCHor CHCHCH, and n is an integer chosen from 2 to 100; or ii) a diester having at least one ethylene oxide repeating unit; or iii) an octylphenol having at least one ethylene oxide repeating unit.

Ink dispersion

An inkjet print medium includes a base substrate, a layer of a deinking solution at least partially diffused into the base substrate, and an ink-receiving layer established on the layer of the deinking solution. The deinking solution includes a flocculant in an amount ranging from about 0.1 wt. % to about 40 wt. % of a total wt. % of the deinking solution.

A recording material, containing nonionic surfactants, including: a supporting substrate, a first bottom base coat applied to at least one surface of said substrate, and a second topcoat layer applied over said bottom base coat. The supporting substrate or the bottom base coat includes nonionic surfactants that have HLB values that are inferior to 15. Also disclosed is a method to deink printed waste papers wherein the waste papers contain recording materials, containing nonionic surfactants such as defined herein.

A process for removing ink from a printed media substrate. Such process includes the step of providing a media substrate including an ink printed image wherein the ink composition or the media substrate contains photolabile entities. Then the process includes the step of applying UV light on the printed substrate wherein the emitted UV light has a wavelength value which is below the threshold wavelength of the photolabile entities.

Process for removing ink from printed substrate

The present disclosure is drawn to apparatuses, methods, and systems involving liquid electrophotographic printing. Generally, a liquid electrophotographic printer can comprise an ink application device that is configured to apply liquid electrophotographic ink to a substrate, and a roller having a tacky surface that removes excess material from the surface of the substrate thereby pretreating the substrate prior to receiving the liquid electrophotographic ink.
