A method, an electronic device, and computer readable medium is provided. The method includes receiving a first input associated with content displayed on a display of the electronic device. The method also includes in response to receiving the first input, identifying a type of the content, and separating the content into multiple selectable segments based on the identified content type. The method further includes receiving a second input associated with one or more of the multiple selectable segments displayed on the display. The method additionally includes identifying the one or more of the multiple selectable segments displayed on the display as selected content, based on the received second input.

User interface framework for multi-selection and operation of non-consecutive segmented information

A method of forming an electrical interconnect, which includes a first electrode, an interlayer of a programmable material disposed over at least a portion of the first electrode, and a second electrode disposed over the programmable material at a non-zero angle relative to the first electrode. The interlayer includes a modified region having differing electrical properties than the rest of the interlayer, sandwiched at the junction of the first electrode and the second electrode. The interlayer may be exposed to a focused beam to form the modified region.

The present invention provides a method of fabricating a biosensor. The method includes providing a substrate which has a surface coating. The surface coating is deformable and the substrate includes a layered structure which has at least two electrically conductive layers separated by at least one electrically insulating layer. The method also includes imprinting a structure into the surface coating. Further, the method includes etching at least a region of the imprinted structure and the substrate to remove at least a portion of the structure and the substrate. The structure is shaped so that the etching forms at least a portion of the biosensor in the substrate and exposes at least a portion of each electrically conductive layer to form electrodes of the biosensor.

Method of fabricating a biosensor

The invention provides a printed circuit board (PCB) printing system. In a particular embodiment, the system includes a liquid electrophotographic printing device. At least one supplier of electrically conductive ink supplying electrically conductive ink to the electrophotographic printing device is also provided. In addition, at least one supplier of dielectric ink supplying dielectric ink to the electrophotographic printing device is also provided. The liquid electrophotographic printing device is operable to apply the electrically conductive ink and the dielectric ink to a provided substrate such that substantially immiscible boundary delineation occurs at any points of contact between the applied electrically conducive ink and the applied dielectric ink. An appropriate method of use for the rendering of a printed circuit board is also provided.

An input device includes a plurality of MRAM cells and a layer of particles. An MRAM cell in the input device includes a sense layer having a magnetic orientation. At least one particle of the layer of particles is located near the MRAM cell such that the particle affects the magnetic orientation of the sense layer of the MRAM cell.

A method for making magnetic random access memories (MRAM) which reduces heat conduction from memory cells in an MRAM array. The method uses grid of bit and word lines for selectively accessing data in the array of magnetic memory cells. The grid has a plurality of thermally and electrically resistive portions which provide connections to the magnetic memory cells. The resistive portions increase the thermal resistance for heat generated by each memory cell and during operation provide localized heating of active memory cells to ease cell state switching.

Provided is a system for characterizing biological/chemical test specimens. In particular, a container such as a tube or capillary for containing a test specimen is interconnected at one end to a light source via a fiber optic. A second end of the tube is connected to a detector via a second fiber optic. In one embodiment, the containing tube exhibits 'total internal reflection'. As light is projected into the tube, one or more electric fields are applied to the specimen. Light travels the length of the tube to excite specimen molecules, which subsequently emit light having a wavelength longer than that of the projected light. The emitted light travels the length of the tube, is detected, and is then transmitted to a processor for analysis. In an alternate embodiment, the tube is not TIR therefore emitted light exits the tube along its length, wherein it is detected by one or more detectors.

Capillary based optical measurement system

Provided is a sensor array and a method of forming the same. The sensor array includes an array of apertures etched into a 3D patterned resist layer to expose areas of one or more agents and/or reagents deposited on a substrate. The sensor is formed using a Self-Aligned Imprint Lithography ('SAIL') method, a process that allows for a one-time deposition of all required materials followed by a series of etching/cleaning steps. The location of reagents on the sensor template, as well as the concentration gradient of each reagent, may be controlled through the sensor manufacturing process. Bores of a single reagent, or bores containing two or more reagents, may be formed using the SAIL process.

A system for performing cantilever based calorimetric analysis system. A laser device is configured to emit a beam of laser energy along a beam pathway reaching from the laser device to a microcantilever. The microcantilever presents a reflective target area for the laser beam. The microcantilever deflects in response to heat. A material is provided adjacent to the target area. The material receives heat energy from the laser beam. A detector is positioned on a beam return pathway. The detector is configured to sense laser energy from the beam return pathway and provide a data single that represents calorimetric data from the material. Control circuitry is also provided to receive the data signal from the detector and process the data signal according to program logic for providing a differential scanning calorimetric analysis of the calorimetric data. An associated method of use is also provided.

System and method for cantilever based calorimetric analysis

The invention includes an optical signal transmission transducer. The optical signal transmission transducer includes a magnetic tunnel junction. The magnetic tunnel junction can be tuned to switch states in response to selected frequencies of a magnetic field. A light source can be modulated based upon states of the magnetic tunnel junction. An alternate embodiment of the optical signal transmission transducer includes a light transducer that generates magnetic sense signals based upon reception of modulated light signals. The light transducer can be integrated with a magnetic tunnel junction. The magnetic tunnel junction can be tuned to switch states in response to selected frequencies of the magnetic sense signal.
