Top-of-rack (TOR) switches are connected to a network fabric of a data center. Each TOR switch corresponds to a rack of the data center, and is configured to provide access to the network fabric for computing devices mounted in the rack. In one method, a client device of a user is used to select various network service options. The service options correspond to services that can be provided to computing equipment of the user that is mounted in various racks of the data center. In response to receiving the selection of one or more service options, the network fabric of the data center is configured to connect the computing equipment to the selected services. In one approach, the network fabric is configured by creating and/or configuring one or more virtual networks to provide the connection to the services.

Network service integration into a network fabric of a data center

Systems, methods and computer-readable storage media are provided for provisioning network inter-connections and extensions to computing infrastructure. In one embodiment, a system can receive a request from a client to establish a network connection between a private network and a remote network, the request including a selection of a virtual network residing at the private network; establish a transit connection between the virtual network and an exchange port established in association with the private network; establish a first network connection between the exchange port and an intermediary cross connect network; establish a second network connection between the intermediary cross connect network and the remote network; and extend a virtual local area network (VLAN) connected to the virtual network of the client at the private network to the remote network via the network connection, the network connection comprising the first network connection and the second network connection.

Automated cloud on-ramp in a data center

Top-of-rack (TOR) switches are connected to a network fabric of a data center. Each TOR switch corresponds to a rack of the data center, and is configured to provide access to the network fabric for computing devices mounted in the rack. In one method, a TOR switch is mounted in a rack. The TOR switch is connected to a network fabric of a data center. A lock is used to control physical access to the rack. A request to physically access the rack is received from a computing device (e.g., a badge implementing a security token, or a mobile device). The request includes authentication credentials. The computing device is then authenticated. In response to authenticating the computing device, the lock is configured to provide physical access to the rack.

Automated access to racks in a colocation data center

Top-of-rack (TOR) switches are connected to a network fabric of a data center. Each TOR switch corresponds to a respective rack of the data center, and is configured to provide access to the network fabric for computing devices mounted in the respective rack. A request is received, from a client device via a portal of the data center, to provide IP connectivity to one or more computing devices mounted in a rack. IP addresses are assigned that correspond to the IP connectivity. A virtual network is created in a network fabric of the data center. The created virtual network is associated with the assigned IP addresses. One or more of the TOR switches are configured to connect one or more ports of each respective TOR switch to the created virtual network.

Automated deployment of internet connectivity to rack switches in a data center

A virtualization control system may receive a set of parameters; and provision a virtual environment. The provisioning may include provisioning a set of resources for the virtual environment. An amount of resources, associated with the set of resources, may be based on the received set of parameters. The virtualization control system may monitor resource usage of the virtual environment; detect that usage of at least one resource, of the provisioned set of resources, exceeds a particular usage threshold; and enable, based on the detecting, a burst usage mode for the virtual environment. The enabling may include provisioning an additional set of resources for the virtual environment. The additional set of resources may include a greater amount of resources than the amount of resources that are provisioned based on the received set of parameters.

System and method for customer provisioning in a utility computing platform

Systems and methods are provided for provisioning a virtual server. An identification of an operating system, a server name, a number of processors, a memory amount, and a disk storage amount is received, and a virtual server is provisioned by provisioning a number of processors, an amount of memory, and an amount of storage resources based on the identified number of processors, the identified memory amount, and the identified disk storage amount. Resource usage of the virtual server is monitored, and additional resources for the virtual server are provisioned if burst resource usage mode is enabled for the virtual server.

A utility computing platform includes a virtualization control system coupled to physical server, disk drive and networking resources and configured to partition the physical resources into virtual resources including virtual processor, memory and storage resources. The utility computing platform comprises a customer console application coupled to the virtualization control system, and accessible via an Internet connection to a customer computing system operating a web browser interface. The customer console application enables the customer, through the web browser interface, to create and manage one or more virtual servers within a customer environment by associating an amount of virtual processor, memory and storage resources with the one or more virtual servers.
