Disclosed are techniques for performing positioning measurements at a mobile device during a positioning session with a serving cell. In an aspect, the mobile device determines to trigger a coverage-enhanced (CE) mode before a positioning session timeout for the positioning session expires, continues performance of the positioning measurements during the positioning session with the serving cell while the mobile device remains connected to the serving cell due to the triggered CE mode, determines whether the positioning measurements have been completed or the positioning session timeout has expired, and responsive to the determination that the positioning measurements have been completed or that the positioning session timeout has expired, reports, to a network entity in the wireless communications network, actual handover measurements to enable the network entity to make a handover determination.

Positioning enhancements for narrowband mobile devices

Method and apparatus for switching BWP based on UE feedback. The apparatus identifies a potential change of resources of a carrier based on an event or a condition associated with communication with a base station. The apparatus provides, to the base station, a preferred throughput or BWP as the potential change of resources for the carrier. The apparatus switches to the preferred throughput or BWP for the carrier. The apparatus receives, from the base station, a switch indication including instructions to switch to the preferred throughput or BWP for the carrier. The apparatus selects a preferred throughput or BWP as the potential change of resources.

Fast BWP switch based on UE feedback

Techniques and apparatus for early termination of decoding of communication channels for power saving in narrowband devices are provided. One technique includes monitoring for one or more first repetitions of at least one communication channel from a base station. The device determines, based on the monitoring, whether to refrain from monitoring for one or more second repetitions of the at least one communication channel. The device enters a low power mode if the determination is to refrain from monitoring for the one or more second repetitions of the at least one communication channel.
