A compressed air brake device for a rail vehicle with a direct, electropneumatic brake has a brake control unit which has a brake control device with connected brake actuators and a brake pilot control pressure sensor connected to the brake actuators. An independent monitoring control unit is arranged in parallel to the brake control unit. The monitoring control unit has a monitoring control device with connected monitoring actuators and a monitoring pilot control pressure sensor. A monitoring pilot control pressure at the output of the monitoring actuators is closed-loop controlled using the monitoring pilot control pressure sensor. The higher pressure of a brake pilot control pressure and the monitoring pilot control pressure or, in the case of a fault of the brake control unit, the monitoring pilot control pressure can be relayed to the brake cylinder.

Compressed air brake device for a rail vehicle with a direct electropneumatic brake

A rail vehicle combination has a first motor train unit and at least one second motor train unit, each of which has a drive mechanism and a brake mechanism. Each of the brake mechanisms of the at least two motor train units has a plurality of brake units. In order to obtain a flexible utilization of the brake mechanism capacities of the coupled motor train units, a brake effect management system is formed in the coupled state. The management system is of a higher order than the brake mechanisms and is connected thereto. The management system is configured to distribute a braking effect onto the brake units of the at least two motor train units.

Rail vehicle unit

A rail vehicle braking device has at least one electrodynamic brake, which comprises a drive unit, which has at least one drive motor and a power supply unit for supplying the drive motor when the drive unit is in a traction mode. The rail vehicle braking device has at least two brake control units in order to increase the safety of the electrodynamic brake. In a first braking mode, a first brake control unit in an active state controls the power supply unit for providing a braking effect, a first brake effect monitoring unit and a switching unit, which serves to switch, depending on a brake effect parameter in the first braking mode, into a second braking mode, in which the second brake control unit in an active state controls the power supply unit for providing a brake effect.

Rail vehicle braking device and method for braking a rail vehicle

A rail vehicle braking device has at least one first electrodynamic brake with a drive unit that includes at least one drive motor and a power supply unit for supplying the drive motor in a traction mode of the drive unit. A brake control unit controls, in a first brake mode, the respective power supply unit for providing a braking effect. In order to optimize the system with a fall-back measure in case of a braking effect loss in respect of the cause thereof, there is provided at least one sensor unit, which detects a braking effect parameter for the first braking mode of the brake. A monitoring device is assigned to the first brake. It is independent of the brake control unit and considers, in a first monitoring mode, the braking effect parameter for the introduction of a fall-back measure concerning the brake.

Rail vehicle braking device

An actuator for a brake system of a rail vehicle has a set-value detection unit that outputs a set value or a set value corrected by a reducing signal of an anti-skid control device for a decelerating force or a decelerating torque to a set-value control device. The latter controls the set value to a first output set value. A switch-over device connects an output of the set-value control device to a input of a set-value/force conversion device in a first switching position. In a second switching position, the set-value/force conversion device receives the signal from a fall-back unit. Braking devices convert an actual value of the force into an actual value of the decelerating force or decelerating torque. When impermissible deviations from a fast braking set value in a fast-braking operation are found, the switch-over device switches from the first to the second switching position.

Actuator for a brake system of a rail vehicle

A brake arrangement of a railway vehicle includes an electrical brake device having an electronic brake controller and having an electro-pneumatic regulator with a pressure sensor. An emergency brake device has a pressure reducer in series with a valve device. A shuttle valve device is also present at a pneumatic output of the electrical pneumatic braking device and a pneumatic output of the emergency brake system and is connected at the inputs thereof. The output of the valve device is connected to a control valve device connected upstream of a brake cylinder. The brake arrangement can be a direct braking arrangement and can be converted in a simple manner to an indirect braking arrangement. The valve device is an electromagnetic emergency stop valve working according to the principle of de-energizing to close, and the pressure sensor of the electro-pneumatic regulator is connected to the output of the shuttle valve device.

Brake arrangement of a rail vehicle

A device has a pneumatic spring for supporting a load on a bogie of a rail vehicle and a compressed air supply which is pneumatically connected to the air spring via an air spring valve in order to vent and to fill the air spring with compressed air. A closed-loop control unit adjusts the air volume and/or the air pressure in the air spring. A compressed air line provides for the pneumatic connection between the compressed air supply, air spring, air spring valve and control unit. Unnecessary filling and venting of the air spring is prevented by way of a device for limiting the volume flow into the compressed air line in dependence on the speed of the rail vehicle.
