Dialyzer systems can consolidate multiple technologies and functionalities of blood treatment systems in a significantly integrated fashion. For example, this disclosure describes dialyzer systems that include a magnetically driven and magnetically levitating pump rotor integrated into the dialyzer. Such a dialyzer can be used with treatment modules that include a magnetic field-generating pump drive unit. In some embodiments, the dialyzers include pressure sensor chambers with flexible membranes with which corresponding pressure transducers of the treatment modules can interface to detect arterial and/or venous pressures.

An external functional means comprises at least one housing body, at least one chamber integrated into the housing body for receiving medical fluids, at least one passage integrated into the housing body for receiving and/or conducting a medical fluid, and at least one valve means completely or partly integrated into the housing body for controlling or regulating a fluid flowing through the external functional means. The present invention relates to a cassette module for controlling fluid flows, in particular for use in blood treatment systems or in infusion systems, wherein the cassette module comprises at least one base body having means for the flow guidance of at least one fluid flow and at least two membranes which are at least sectionally directly or indirectly in contact with the base body, wherein at least one actuation element is arranged between the membranes by means of which the means for the flow guidance can be acted on.

The apparatus and method according to the present invention for balancing fresh and used dialysis fluid are characterized in that the individual balancing chambers of the balancing system receive both fresh dialysis fluid and used dialysis fluid, the functions of the balancing chambers being alternately interchanged. In this way, exact balancing can be achieved even when the volumes of the individual chambers differ from one another. Over the period of the treatment as a whole, the differences between the volumes balance each other out due to the cyclic interchange of the chambers.

The present invention relates to a device and method for conveying fluids into the treatment unit of a medical treatment apparatus. The device and method according to the present invention are based on the fact that the fluid with which the treatment unit is supplied, circulates in a fluid circuit including the treatment unit. To balance fresh and used fluid fed to the treatment unit or conveyed from the treatment unit, a balancing unit with a balancing chamber is used, which can be incorporated into the fluid circuit including the treatment unit.
