The present invention relates to a foamed polypropylene composition comprising a propylene homo- and/or copolymer and glass fibres, wherein (i) the composition has a density of 50 to 950 kg/m, (ii) the tensile modulus tmmeasured according to ISO 527 in extrusion direction and the k-value measured according to ASTM C-518 satisfy the relation: tm[MPa]/k [W/mK]&#x2267;9000 MPa&#xb7;mK/W, to the use of said composition for the production of an insulating layer and to an article comprising said composition.

Fibre reinforced propylene foam

The present invention relates to a capacitor film comprising a biaxially oriented polypropylene wherein a) said polypropylene has a draw ratio in machine direction of at least 4.0 and a draw ratio in transverse direction of at least 4.0, and b) said polypropylene has an electrical breakdown strength EB63% according to IEC 60243-part 1 (1988) of at least 300 kV/mm at a draw ratio in machine direction and in transverse direction of 4.0.

Electrical insulation film

The present technology relates to a biaxially oriented polypropylene film. The biaxially oriented polypropylene film comprises a polypropylene material having xylene solubles of at least 0.5 percent by weight. The polypropylene also has a strain hardening index of at least 0.15 measured at a deformation rate d&#x3b5;/dt of 1.00 sat a temperature of 180&#xb0; C. In certain embodiments, the strain hardening index is defined as the slope of a logarithm to the basis 10 of a tensile stress growth function as a function of a logarithm to the basis 10 of a Hencky strain for the range of Hencky strains between 1 and 3.

Biaxially oriented polypropylene film

The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising a polyolefin base resin comprising (A) a propylene homopolymer with a MWD of 1.5 to 5.0, and (B) an ethylene copolymer with one or more comonomers selected from alphaolefins with 4 to 12 carbon atoms, having a density of not greater than 920 kg/mwherein the polyolefin base resin has a weight ratio of propylene homopolymer (A) to ethylene copolymer (B) from 95:5 to 60:40, the use of such a polymer composition for the manufacture of an injection molded article, an article produced from such a polymer composition, an article with a grained surface structure produced from such a polymer composition showing having a scratch resistance, determined as the difference of the luminance &#x394;L at a load of 10 N, of not more than 1 and a gloss at an angle of 60&#xb0; of not more than 2.8%, and the use of a polymer composition for the production of such an article.

Low emission polymer composition

Polypropylene composition comprising a) an isotactic polypropylene (iPP) produced in the presence of a single-site catalyst and said isotactic polypropylene (iPP) has a mean isotactic block length between two structural chain defects, as a statistical average, greater than 70, and b) an atactic polypropylene (aPP) with an absorbance ratio of the absorption band at 998 cmto the absorption band at 973 cm[A/A] below 0.80 wherein the weight ratio of said atactic polypropylene to the sum of said atactic polypropylene and said isotactic polypropylene (aPP/(aPP+iPP)) is at least 0.50 wt.-%.

Polypropylene composition with low surface energy

Certain embodiments of the present technology provide a cable comprising a conductor and a cable layer. The cable layer comprises a polypropylene material. The cable layer and/or the polypropylene material comprise a crystalline fraction crystallizing in the temperature range of 200 to 105&#xb0; C. determined by stepwise isothermal segregation technique. The crystalline fraction comprises a part, wherein, during subsequent melting at a melting rate of 10&#xb0; C./min, the part melts at or below 130&#xb0; C. and the part represents at least 20 percent by weight of the crystalline fraction. In certain embodiments, the part melts at or below the temperature T=Tm&#x2212;3&#xb0; C., wherein Tm is the melting temperature of the cable layer and/or the polypropylene material, and the part represents at least 45 percent by weight of the crystalline fraction. Certain embodiments provide methods and processes for manufacturing the cable described above and herein.

Multi-branched polypropylene

Certain embodiments provide an article comprising a substrate, wherein the substrate is extrusion coated with a composition comprising a multi-branched polypropylene having a g' of less than 1.00. In certain embodiments, the substrate is extrusion coated with a composition comprising a polypropylene material. Either the composition and/or the polypropylene material are represented by the equation:Vicat[&#xb0; C.]&#x3e;&#x2212;3.96&#xb7;[mol %]+86.85;wherein Vicat B is the heat resistance, according to ISO 306 (50 N), of the composition and/or the polypropylene material; and Cis the comonomer content the composition and/or the polypropylene material.

Extrusion coated substrate

The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of polypropylene using a catalyst system of low porosity, the catalyst system comprising an asymmetric catalyst, wherein the catalyst system has a porosity of less than 1.40 ml/g.

Process for the preparation of polypropylene

Certain embodiments of the present technology provide a capacitor film comprising a polypropylene material. The capacitor film comprises xylene solubles of at least 0.5 percent by weight. In certain embodiments the xylene solubles are in a range of 0.5 to 1.5 percent by weight. The film also comprises a crystalline fraction melting in the temperature range of 200&#xb0; C. to 105&#xb0; C. determined by stepwise isothermal segregation technique. The crystalline fraction comprises a part, the part representing at least 10 percent by weight of said crystalline fraction, and wherein the part melts at a melting rate of 10&#xb0; C./min. Certain embodiments present a capacitor film where the part melts at or below 140&#xb0; C. In other embodiments, the said part melts at or below the temperature T=Tm&#x2212;3&#xb0; C., wherein Tm is the melting temperature of the capacitor film and/or the polypropylene material, and the part represents at least 45 percent by weight of the crystalline fraction.

The present technology relates to a foam comprising a polypropylene material. The polypropylene material is produced in the presence of a metallocene catalyst, and the foam and/or the polypropylene has a branching index g' of less than 1.00 and a strain hardening index (SHI@1 s) of at least 0.30 measured by a deformation rate d&#x3b5;/dt of 1.00 sat a temperature of 180&#xb0; C., where the strain hardening index (SHI) is defined as the slope of the logarithm to the basis 10 of the tensile stress growth function (log(&#x3b7;)) as a function of the logarithm to the basis 10 of the Hencky strain (log(&#x3b5;)) in the range of Hencky strains between 1 and 3.

Polypropylene foam

The invention relates to a polypropylene composition a heterophasic propylene copolymer, an elastomeric copolymer and inorganic filler and to a method for producing the propylene composition using peroxides. The composition is characterised by a combination of excellent impact strength, stiffness, elasticity and surface stability.
