In a conveying arrangement for accommodating and conveying slabs, including a roller supporting chain whose chain links, at their ends, are connected by articulation pins and have projections that overlap each other, each chain link is provided with a cover plate having load supports that rise above the projections in terms of height.

Torque support arrangement

In a mixing arrangement including a tiltable mixer provided with a refractory lining and having a horizontally arranged cylindrical mixing chamber with end walls, the mixing chamber is mounted on a base by means of a fixed bearing and an expansion bearing and is supported on the base by means of two aligning carrying trunnions connected to the end walls, one of the carrying trunnions being mounted in the expansion bearing and the other being mounted in the fixed bearing.

Mixing arrangement

A tilting drive arrangement for a converter has a spur gear wheel fastened to a tilting trunnion of the converter and engaging with at least two pinions driven by a common motor. At least one shaft is provided for a common rotation of the pinions. The pinions are mounted in a carrying gear casing that is overmounted on the trunnion in a position outside the horizontal plane extending through the tilting axis of the converter. A torsionally elastic shaft between the pinions or a pivotally mounted reduction gear on each pinion are provided to produce a uniform torque distribution to the pinions.

In a mixing arrangement including a mixing chamber stationarily arranged on a base or mounted on a vehicle, the mixing chamber is connected, in communicating vessel manner, with at least one pouring chamber pivotable relative to the mixing chamber, by a passage arranged in the vicinity of the bottom of the mixing chamber, and the pivot axis extends also near the bottom.

A rotary slide closure for a vessel provided with a fire-proof lining includes a closure block contacting a beveled seat of a seat block and being rotatably mounted relative to the seat block. The closure block and the seat block each have at least one flow-through opening which can be brought into register by turning of the closure block so as to form a pouring channel extending from the center of the closure block. The surface of the seat block forming the beveled seat, faces the interior of the vessel and the closure block contacts the surface forming the bevel seat from the interior of the vessel.

Rotary slide closure

A rotatable or tiltable metallurgical vessel, in particular a pig iron mixer, is mounted in a fixed bearing and an expansion bearing. A toothed element is arranged on the vessel jacket between the two bearings and a driven counter-element engages the toothed element. The expansion bearing and the fixed bearing are designed as slide bearings that include raceways fastened to the vessel jacket at a distance from each other, and arcuate slideways formed of slide plates that accommodate the raceways.

An arrangement for monitoring the oil supply of a lubrication system for heavy machinery has an oil supply conduit, a liquid flow counter designed as a toothed wheel counter with two meshing, outwardly-toothed wheels. One of the wheels has a shaft to which a measuring wheel mounted outside of the oil supply conduit is mechanically connected. An impulse generator allocated to the measuring wheel and measuring the rotational speed thereof, an impulse receiver, and a signalling device to which the impulses are led by means of the impulse receiver complete the arrangement.

In a base anchorage for heavy machinery, in particular converters, an anchoring plate is concreted into a base and is firmly connected with at least one bolt, whose end projecting out of the base is provided with a screw thread. The at least one bolt is produced of high-tensile strength material and, at its lower end, it is screwed through a threaded bore in the anchoring plate and contacts, with at least one flattened side, a corresponding face of a securing plate fixed relative to the anchoring plate, the bolt thus being secured against rotation.

A slide-articulation bearing, in particular for tiltable converters, with an inner race placed on a shaft, an outer race inserted in a bearing housing, and sliding elements inserted between the inner and outer races so as to permit a relative movement of these races, has the sliding elements embedded in recesses of the inner or outer race, which recesses are vertically directed towards the cylindrical surface of the shaft.

A slide-articulation bearing for supporting a shaft, in particular for tiltable converters, has a circular-cylindrical sliding face forming a unit with the shaft, sliding elements held by a cage contacting the sliding face, and an outer race with a spherical inner face for accommodating wobbling movements of the shaft. The cage is provided with radially directed recesses that are open towards the cage inner and outer sides, the sliding elements being inserted therein so as to project out of the recesses. The sliding elements have outwardly projecting ends provided with spherical outer faces that contact and cooperate with the spherical inner face of the outer race.

A device at a converter with a tilting drive, a tilting trunnion on which the tilting drive is suspended, and a torque support resiliently supported on the base, also has an adjustment means, by which the tilting drive can be fixed relative to the base during blowing.

A releasable hub-shaft connection mechanism, in particular to be used in heavy machinery for transmitting strong torques, has a shaft, a hub surrounding the shaft and at least one bore with its axis parallel to the shaft and located at the junction of the shaft and the hub so as to penetrate each equally. A bushing with a cylindrical outer face and a conical inner face is accommodated in the at least one bore, and a tapering bolt is axially displaceable in the bushing, by means of this bolt the bushing is expandible. At a closed bottom end of the bushing, where the bushing has the smallest inner diameter, a further bore extending through the bushing to the outside is located and is connectable to a pressure medium conduit. The tapering bolt is displaceable from a clamped into a release position when the further bore is supplied with a pressure medium from said pressure medium conduit.
