A system for fluidizing and conveying a powdery product is provided. The system includes plurality of powder-locking and metering vessels, the vessels each having a conveying line for the powdery product and a control mechanism for the mass flow of the powdery product. The conveying lines are brought together to form a common conveying line and are supplied to a remover of the powdery product. The powder-locking and metering vessels are alternatively fed with the powdery product and tensioned with the fluidizing gas under operating pressure. The control mechanisms of the powder-locking and metering vessels are activated in such a manner that the mass flow sum of powdery product in the conveying lines is identical to the desired value for the mass flow of powdery product to the remover of the powdery product.

An apparatus for a three-stage cooling and scrubbing system for the treatment of hot crude gases and liquid slag downstream of an entrained flow gasification. Crude gas and slag are firstly cooled and prescrubbed in a first stage by injection of water from ring and/or wall nozzles into a free quench space. Crude gas and slag are then fed together with excess water into a waterbath as a second stage before intensive spraying is once again carried out as a third cooling and scrubbing stage in an annular space.

Separation of dust in a quenching device arranged downstream of an entrained-flow gasification system is increased by a baffle with a double deflection system for deflecting the crude gas at approximately 180&#xb0; angle. An additional spraying element is provided. The arrangement can be single-sided or double-sided, or can include an additional weir.

A three-stage quenching and scrubbing system for treatment of hot crude gases and liquid slag after an entrained flow gasification. In the first primary stage, cooling and scrubbing water is injected such that slag can no longer adhere to the wall of the central tube and the conversion reaction of the carbon monoxide with water vapor to give hydrogen can proceed to close to the equilibrium. A secondary quenching and scrubbing stage takes the form of a bubble column, and further cooling and the deposition of coarse dust and slag are effected in a water bath. The rest of the treatment is through intensive spraying in a tertiary quenching and scrubbing the gas stage, nozzle rings for deposition of fine slag and partly of fine dust. All three quenching and scrubbing stages enable cooling of the crude gas down to the water vapor dew point determined by the plant pressure.

A device for treating steam-saturated crude gases from the entrained flow gasification of fuels before entry into heat exchanges sited upstream of a crude gas converting operation. To avoid solid deposits in an entrance region of the heat exchangers, a crude gas is converted from a saturated into the superheated state by supply of hot gas. Hot gas contemplated is superheated high pressure steam or recycled superheated converted crude gas.

Device for the treatment of crude synthesis gas

Devices for a three-stage scrubbing system for treatment of hot crude gases and liquid slag by an entrained flow gasification. Crude gas and slag are conducted downward into a water bath in a central tube. The upper part of the central tube consists of a double-threaded tube screen welded in a gas-tight manner, in which water is injected directly as the first scrubbing and cooling stage in the interior thereof. In the water bath, a bubble column is formed, which simultaneously constitutes the second scrubbing and cooling stage. Surface bodies arranged in three layers increase the scrubbing effect. After leaving the bubble column, the crude gas is again sprayed with water in a cavity, wherein one or more nozzle rings are disposed. This forms the third scrubbing stage. The crude gas then leaves the quenching and scrubbing apparatus in steam-saturated form at 200-220&#xb0; C. and is sent to further treatment.

A multistage gas washing system is applied for dust separation from crude gases of entrained flow gasification of pulverized fuels under pressures up to 10 MPa and temperatures which are greater than the melting point of the fuel ash. A first stage comprises a modified quenching system and a downstream washing column, which operates as a bubble column. A second washing stage comprises one or more Venturi washers connected in series. A third washing stage comprises multiple high-pressure atomization units of washing water, a partial condenser for cooling the crude gas by 1 to 15&#xb0; C. with condensate formation, and a separation column, which is equipped with washing surfaces and a plastic-coated demister.

A technology for producing synthesis gas from crude gas from various gasification processes for solid or liquid fuels. To limit the temperatures in a subsequent strongly exothermic CO shift reaction to adjust the H/CO ratio, the crude gas which has been freed of dust flows through two shift reactors arranged in series. The first reactor has a specific reaction-kinetically limited catalyst and the second reactor has a conventional sour gas catalyst. The specific catalyst used in the first reactor limits the exothermic shift reaction to such an extent that the reaction temperatures in the first and second reactors remain so low to avoid thermal damage to the catalysts even without introduction of external steam, and the desired gas composition is achieved.

Treatment of synthesis gases from a gasification facility

An entrained flow gasifier designed as a component for an Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle plant of optimized efficiency is provided. The raw gas initially flows through a waste heat unit designed as a radiation cooler and subsequently flows through a full water quench. This results in a higher ratio of steam in the raw gas, which decreases the medium-pressure steam supply before the water-gas shift and thus improves efficiency in IGCC plants with COseparation.

A method for producing electric energy from solid and liquid fuels is provided. The fuels are first subjected to a gasification process at high pressure, and the scrubbed gasification gas is fed to a gas and steam turbine process. The combustion of the scrubbed gasification gas in the gas turbine chamber does not occur with air, but with a mixture made of the three components oxygen, carbon dioxide and water vapor. As a result, the waste gas of the gas turbine is made only of carbon dioxide and water vapor. After the condensation thereof, technically pure carbon dioxide remains, which can be dissipated by storage in the deep substrate of the atmosphere.

Method for producing motor energy from fossil fuels while dissipating pure carbon dioxide

There is described a reactor for entrained flow gasification for operation with dust-type or liquid fuels, wherein a number of gasification burners are disposed away from the reactor axis, with the center line of a gasification burner having an oblique position that is other than parallel to the reactor axis, it being possible for said oblique position to extend at different angles up to an angle of 90&#xb0;. The center line does not necessarily have to intersect the reactor axis; rather the center line can pass the reactor axis at a predetermined distance. This arrangement is associated with a significant reduction in the unwanted discharge of dust-type fine slag, which is difficult to utilize, in conjunction with the possibility of reducing the reactor diameter due to its structure.

In a reactor for the gasification of solid and liquid fuels in the entrained flow at temperatures between 1200 and 1900&#xb0; C. and pressures between ambient pressure and 10 MPa with an oxidizing agent containing free oxygen, the cooling screen is connected in a gas-tight manner to the pressure shell via a bellows compensator to accommodate linear deformation. Continuous sweeping by gas of the annular gap between pressure shell and cooling screen is unnecessary and backflow by producer gas is prevented.

In a reactor for gasification of entrained solid and liquid fuels at temperatures between 1,200 and 1,900&#xb0; C. and at pressures between ambient pressure and 10 MPa using an oxidizing agent containing free oxygen, the cooling screen is connected to the pressure shell in a gastight manner via a sliding seal in order to allow length changes. Continuous gas purging of the annular gap between pressure shell and cooling screen is unnecessary and gasification gas is prevented from flowing behind.

A method and an apparatus for gasifying combustible dusts in an entrained flow gasifier with several gasification burners. Each gasification burner is associated with one or a plurality of lock hopper and dosing systems having a plurality of supply flows. This has the advantage that the burners will continue to operate in the event of a failure of one supply flow.
