The present invention is directed to an unprinted inkjet-printable fillable pouch made of an unprinted inkjet-printable film including (a) a multilayer polymer film including a base layer (a1) and a sealing layer (a2) which is the inner layer of the pouch and (b) at least one ink-receiving layer as the outer layer deposited on the multilayer polymer film (a) from an aqueous coating composition including (b1) a polymeric binder, (b2) fine inorganic particles, and (b3) coarse inorganic and/or organic particles. Also provided is a method for producing the unprinted pouches on a pouch making machine as well as a method for printing the pouches, preferably in a single pass inkjet printing process. The printed pouch is ideal to be filled with food, pet food, beverages, pharmaceuticals and/or personal care products.

The present invention relates to inkjet printable twist and/or fold wrap film for packaging applications, to inkjet printed twist and/or fold wrap film for packaging applications, to packaging including said inkjet printable or inkjet printed twist and/or fold wrap film, the use of the inkjet printable or inkjet printed twist and/or fold wrap film for as well as to the method of making a filled packaging.

Inkjet printable twist and/or fold wrap films for packaging applications

An inkjet printable flexible film for packaging applications is provided which includes (a) a biaxially oriented polymer film having a thickness in the range of from 8 to 70 &#x3bc;m; and (b) at least one ink-receiving layer including boehmite particles and poly(vinyl alcohol) having a degree of hydrolysis of from 78 to 96 mol % in a weight ratio ranging from 6.5:1 to 20:1 coated over one surface of the biaxially oriented polymer film at a dry coating weight being in the range of from 5 to less than 25 g/m, wherein the ink-receiving layer (b) is formed by (i) applying an aqueous coating composition including boehmite particles, an acidic dispersing agent, poly(vinyl alcohol), and boric acid and/or a borate, or (ii) applying boric acid and/or a borate in a first step and then an aqueous coating composition including boehmite particles, an acidic dispersing agent, poly(vinyl alcohol), and optionally further boric acid and/or borate. The packaging applications include the packaging of food, pet food, beverages, pharmaceuticals and/or personal care products.

The present invention relates to a multi-layer shrink film comprising at least one shrink base layer and an inkjet printable layer, the latter comprising at least one cellulose-based binding agent, to methods of making such a multi-layer shrink film and of providing graphical information by means of such a multi-layer shrink film, to articles provided with such a multi-layer shrink film as well as to the use of a particular cellulose-based binding agent in the inkjet printable layer of an inkjet printable shrink film.
