An assembly for applying a torque from an output shaft to an input shaft of an apparatus, such as a multishaft extruder, and for measuring the applied torque. The assembly includes a connecting sleeve for torque-transmittingly coupling the output shaft with the input shaft; and a torque measuring device having expansion measuring strips, a signal amplifier, a transmitting ring antenna and a receiving antenna. The connecting sleeve has a first length portion carrying the expansion measuring strips and a second length portion carrying the signal amplifier and the transmitting ring antenna. A torque-transmitting arrangement torque-transmittingly couples solely the first length portion of the connecting sleeve with the output shaft and the input shaft, so that the second length portion of the connecting sleeve is free from a torque-transmitting connection with the input shaft.

Torque measuring device particularly for a multishaft extruder

A temperature sensor for mixing and kneading vessels, particularly for rubber kneaders, which is sealingly mounted in an opening in a housing wall of the vessel to project into the material to be mixed and/or kneaded. A thermocouple is mounted in the measurement tip for transducing measured temperature into signals transferred to a measurement device. The measurement tip comprises a thin-walled tube of relatively large diameter made of high-strength low heat-conductivity material. The tube has a conical portion at the tip end of which is mounted a high heat-conductivity material connected to the thermocouple. The outer surface of tube is coated with an insulation layer of ceramic at least in the region in which the tube is engaged in the housing wall.

Temperature sensor for mixing and kneading machines

A heater plate for plunger-type molding presses comprises a plurality of electrically heated heating elements which are inserted into holes through the plate. These holes are disposed in rows parallel to the peripheral outline of the plate so that the density of the heating elements decreases toward the center of the plate. The heating elements are interconnected and also connected to a temperature control device so that the heating elements can be selectively heated whereby the plate can be uniformly heated in spite of higher heat loss at marginal portions of the plate.
