An internal combustion engine having a cylinder, a fuel-supply mechanism, and an elastic connector for connecting the fuel supply mechanism to the cylinder. The connector has a first channel for fuel/air mixture and a second channel for combustion air. The connector has a first connection end and a second connection end at which the two channels open out. The two channels are separated from one another by a partition that extends in the longitudinal direction of the channels. The partition is twisted about its longitudinal central axis between the first and second connection ends to achieve a great elasticity of the connector. To produce the elastic connector, a respective core is used for each channel, and the cores are moved relative to one another to enable removal of the connector from a mold.

Internal combustion engine having an elastic connector and method of producing same

A portable handheld suction/blower apparatus includes a motor-driven blower () and at least one air guide tube () connected to the blower () at a connecting location () to conduct flow. The connecting location () is configured at least as a double-winding connection () which has pairs of outer thread sections () of an outer winding () and inner thread sections () of an inner winding (). The pairs are distributed about the periphery of the threaded connection. The periphery of the connecting location () is subdivided by the number of pairs of thread sections () into a corresponding number of angular segments (). The sum of angular extents (&#x3b1;, &#x3b2;) of a pair of individual thread sections () is in total less than an angular extent (&#x3b3;) of the corresponding angular segment ().

Portable handheld suction/blower apparatus

A starter device for an internal combustion engine () has an actuating device and an entrainer () can be coupled to the crankshaft () of the engine (). The entrainer () and the actuating device are rotatably journalled about a rotational axis (). The entrainer () and the actuating device are connected to each other via a damping spring (). The damping spring () is connected with a first end () to the actuating device and with a second end () to the entrainer (). The entrainer () and the actuating device have respective supports (). The damping spring () is mounted on the outer periphery of the two supports (). In the direction of the rotational axis (), a disc () is mounted between the two supports () in order to avoid the situation that the damping spring () can force itself into a gap between the two supports () which gap can arise during operation.

Starter apparatus for an internal combustion engine

A blower unit for a portable blower, having a drive shaft that is rotatably driven by a drive motor. Disposed in the blower unit is an axial fan that is provided with at least one fan wheel driven by the drive shaft and at least guide wheel fixedly disposed in the housing. To achieve a simple construction and a simple manufacture, the housing has at least two housing sections and is divided approximately parallel to the axis of rotation of the drive shaft.

Blower unit and portable blower

A hand-guided power tool has a housing having a first housing part and a second housing part. A grip unit has at least one handle for guiding the power tool and forms the first housing part. A motor unit is arranged in the second housing part and has a drive motor. The grip unit and the motor unit are connected to one another by at least one antivibration element. The at least one antivibration element has a first end secured to the first housing part and a second end secured to the second housing part. The first housing part has at least one receptacle extending from an exterior of the first housing part into a housing interior of the housing. The at least one antivibration element has a longitudinal extension and is surrounded over at least a portion of the longitudinal extension by the at least one receptacle.

Power tool

A portable blower having a motor unit that includes a drive motor disposed in an engine housing. The blower has a blower unit that is provided with a blower housing that is separate from the engine housing. The blower unit includes an axial fan that is driven by the drive motor via a drive shaft. During operation the axial fan conveys operating air in the direction of the axis of rotation of the axial fan through a blower tube disposed downstream of the axial fan. An ergonomic operation and a good operating result can be achieved if the motor unit includes a guide tube on which is secured at least one handle. The engine housing is disposed at one end of the guide tube and the blower unit is disposed at the other end of the guide tube. The drive shaft extends through the guide tube. The length of the guide tube between the engine housing and the blower unit corresponds to at least half of the length of the blower tube.

Portable blower

A hand-guided portable vacuum/blower device has a blower unit with a blower and a motor unit with a drive motor. The blower unit is rigidly connected to the motor unit. The drive motor is drivingly connected to the blower. A grip part is connected with antivibration elements to the motor unit and the blower unit. The grip part is at least approximately ring-shaped and has a first handle. The grip part is arranged in a plane that is positioned perpendicularly to an axis of rotation of the blower and, when viewed in the direction of the axis of rotation, is located between the motor unit and the blower unit.

Hand-guided portable vacuum/blower device

A manually guided blower having a housing in which is disposed a drive motor that rotatingly drives an impeller. The impeller draws in an air stream via an intake opening and conveys the air stream through a discharge opening of the housing. The blower has at least one attachment that can be detachably connected to the housing in the region of one of the openings. The blower has at least one switch that is actuated when the attachment is secured to the opening, whereby the drive motor is in a ready-to-operate state only when the switch is actuated.

Manually guided blower

A portable handheld work apparatus such as a motor-driven chain saw () includes a housing () wherein an internal combustion engine () and a carburetor () are mounted. A throttle lever () is provided which is pivotally journalled on a handle (). The handle () is connected to the housing () via at least one antivibration element (). A vibration gap () is configured between the handle () and the housing (). A transmitting unit () is provided for transmitting the pivot movement of the throttle lever () to the carburetor (). The transmitting unit includes a rigid transmitting element () which bridges the vibration gap (). A simple configuration and a substantial decoupling of the relative movement between the housing () and the handle () from the actuating movement of the carburetor is achieved in that the transmitting element () is rotatably journalled and the pivot movement of the throttle lever () is transmitted as a rotation about a rotational axis () lying transverse to the vibration gap ().

Portable handheld work apparatus

A valve drive having a rocker arm mounted on a cylinder head is provided. One end of the rocker arm is actuated by a push rod to actuate a valve stem of a poppet valve that engages the other end of the rocker arm, which is pivotably held between its ends on a support pin that extends into the cylinder head, with a spherical mounting being provided between the support pin and the rocker arm. Provided on that side of the rocker arm remote from the cylinder head is a bolt head for adjusting the bearing spacing between the rocker arm and the cylinder head for adjusting valve play. To prevent unintended adjustment of the bolt head, the latter cooperates with a rotation preventing element that has an arresting portion that engages the bolt head, and a support portion that conveys the adjustment moment away.

Valve drive having a rocker arm

A diaphragm carburetor is provided for an internal combustion engine that operates with scavenging air, especially a two-cycle engine in a manually-guided implement. The carburetor has an intake channel portion in which is disposed a butterfly valve that is rotatably held via a shaft and in the vicinity of which fuel-supplying channels open into the intake channel portion. The channels are supplied from a fuel-filled regulating chamber that is formed on a longitudinal side of the intake channel portion in the carburetor housing and is separated by a regulating diaphragm from a compensation chamber. The carburetor has at least one air channel that supplies additional combustion air and that has an air valve that is rotatably held via a shaft. The butterfly valve and the air valve can be brought from a closed position, in which the butterfly valve or the air valve only insignificantly influence the flow in the intake channel portion or in the air channel, into a closed position in which the intake channel portion or the air channel are substantially closed off in an airtight manner, and in an opening direction from the closed position into the opened position. The air valve is coupled to the butterfly valve via a coupling mechanism that compensates for axial and radial tolerances and includes a spring.

Diaphragm carburetor for an internal combustion engine that operates with scavenging air

A cam drive is provided for a valve control of a mixture-lubricated internal combustion engine that has a cylinder, and a cylinder head in which is disposed a poppet valve which is actuated by a pivotable rocker arm. Mounted in a cam chamber is a control cam that is driven by the crankshaft of the engine and on the cam path of which rests a drag lever that transfers the cam lift to the rocker arm. To achieve a reliable mixture lubrication, a flow guidance element is disposed in the annular chamber between the peripheral wall of the cam chamber and the maximum diameter of the path of a cam nose. The flow guidance element is provided with a flow edge that is disposed adjacent to the drag lever in the vicinity of the path diameter of the cam nose.

Lubrication mechanism for a cam drive

A portable handheld work apparatus such as a motor-driven chain saw includes a housing ( ) of a drive unit ( ). The following are mounted in the housing ( ): an internal combustion engine ( ), a carburetor ( ) for fuel metering and an air filter ( ) as well as a fuel tank ( ). The air filter ( ) is mounted ahead of the carburetor in the flow direction of the fresh air flow. A largest possible filter action is obtained with a compact configuration in that a housing ( ) of the air filter ( ) lies at least partially in a space between the carburetor ( ) and the fuel tank ( ).

A valve drive mechanism is provided that has a rocker arm that by means of a swivel joint is movable about a pivot axis that extends transverse to the rocker arm. A control unit serves to actuate one end of the rocker arm, the other end of which actuates a poppet valve. A guide element, which is disposed between the end of the valve stem of the poppet valve and the other end of the rocker arm, serves to secure the position of the other end of the rocker arm relative to the valve stem end. The guide element is separate from the rocker arm and valve stem, and the other end of the rocker arm comes to rest between abutment surfaces of the guide element.

A valve drive mechanism is provided for an internal combustion engine, especially a four-stroke engine in a power chain saw. The implement housing is spanned by a front handle, the tubular grip of which is adjacent to the cylinder head of the engine and extends from one longitudinal side of the implement to the other longitudinal side thereof. A rocker arm of a valve control is pivotably mounted on the cylinder head between the ends of the rocker arm, with the rocker arm being pivotable about a pivot axis disposed transverse to the rocker arm. Push rods of a control mechanism engage one end of the rocker arm to actuate a poppet valve, on the valve stem of which the other end of the rocker arm acts. To be able to guide the tubular grip close to the center of gravity of the implement, the longitudinal axis of the rocker arm is disposed approximately parallel to the adjacent portion of the tubular grip.
