A device for storing a cable, especially an electric cable in a cable drum of a vacuum cleaner. The device including a pendulous body with rollers mounted on an axle and a supply space. The supply space has the rollers arranged on the entry side to guide the cable to the pendulous body. The pendulous body having at least a first and at least a second roller between which the cable can be guided as the pendulous object swings around the axle.

A coupling part joins at least one tubular or bar-shaped part to a further part. The coupling part contains at least one sleeve part that accommodates the tubular or bar-shaped part, whereby at least one first detent element is provided on the inside of the sleeve part and interacts with a first counter detent element provided on the tubular or bar-shaped part. The detent connection of the first detent and counter detent element can be disengaged by displacing the sleeve part. A coupling part of the aforementioned type is characterized by its ability to be easily disengaged.

A cable reel makes possible a diversion of a braking pulse onto a housing by using elastic elements that mount the cable reel inside the housing, whereby the braking energy is converted into heat. The cable reel is, in particular, also suited for reel bodies that hold long cable lengths. In particular, the cable reel is used in a vacuum cleaner.
