A method for making a seat includes the step of overmolding a carrier onto a fabric seat surface. The fabric surface is formed from a woven fabric material having heating element fibers. The heating element fibers are placed in contact with a conductor. The carrier and the conductor are then positioned into a frame.

Portions of the woven fabric are bonded to the carriers () o as to remain fixed relative to the carrier during normal loading conditions and during abnormally high loading conditions. The housing opening is covered by a flexible protective cover in the resting state of the airbag. The cover is provided with at least one tearing location. The protective cover is provided with at least two tearing locations offset with respect to one another in the expansion direction such that the protective cover tears open in stages during the expansion of the airbag.

The coil and the conductive core constitute part of a lifting rod connected to a measuring piston, with a coil carrier and a housing surrounding the coil carrier. The invention relates to a triggering control device for occupant restraint systems in a vehicle whose triggering readiness can be influenced as a function of collision-relevant parameters. According to the invention, collision parameter detection comprises object detection, which can detect a collision object before a collision occurs in an area near the vehicle, and can determine at least a relative speed. Whenever a collision object is detected, a signal generator delivers a collision parameter signal that depends on the relative speed determined. In a preferred embodiment the collision parameter detection unit also determines the intrinsic speed of the vehicle and whenever no collision object is detected, the signal generator supplies a collision parameter signal influenced by the intrinsic speed.
