A process for the stepwise separation of accompanying gases from a raw synthesis gas stream by a liquid absorbent countercurrently guided through all process steps and circulated via regeneration plants, wherein either the accompanying gases HS, COS and COare separated in a common absorption step or, in one of the selective absorption steps chiefly HS and COS are separated and in the next step in flow direction of the gas chiefly COis separated, and in the last step a separation of accompanying gas residues (fine wash) is effected, wherein before the separation of HS and COS an absorption step chiefly for the separation of aromatics and subsequently an absorption step chiefly for the separation of methyl mercaptan is carried out.

From the CO-containing stream of process gas obtained in a process for the treatment of a CO-containing stream of process gas, which is obtained in the production of pure synthesis gas from raw gas in the partial oxidation of heavy oils, petroleum coke or wastes, or in the gasification of coal, or when processing natural gas or accompanying natural gas, COis removed physisorptively or chemisorptively, and the solvent loaded with COis expanded to a lower pressure for the desorption of CO. In order to generate COas pure as possible, the contaminated COis condensed to at least 60 bar[a] or below its critical temperature to at least 70 bar[a], and the impurities contained in the liquid COare removed by stripping with gaseous COguided in counterflow.

The invention relates to a system unit for desorbing carbon dioxide and other impurities from highly pressurized methanol. Said system unit comprises at least one or more expansion vessels arranged in succession, at least one heat exchanger, and at least one liquid/gas separator. The inventive system unit contains: a) a line () through which the intensely cooled methanol leaving expansion vessel (C) is introduced into the heat exchanger (E) from underneath, and; b) a line (), though which the heated methanol is drawn out of the heat exchanger (E) from the top, and which serves to connect said heat exchanger to a liquid/gas separator inside of which the remaining carbon dioxide still contained in the methanol is desorbed and separated out to the greatest possible extent. This system unit enables the cold due to evaporation, said cold resulting during the desorption of carbon dioxide, to be obtained inside a heat exchanger and constitutes an important cold energy source for carrying out absorption.

Installation and method for producing and disaggregating synthesis gases from natural gas

A methanol/water scrubbing solution containing colloidal metal sulfides formed from metal carbonyls and resulting from the scrubbing of industrial gases, such as synthesis gas, is subjected to agglomeration of the metal sulfides before the scrubbing solution to be separated enters the separating column which separates the methanol from the water containing precipitated metal sulfides. The agglomeration is carried out in a precipitation vessel and the scrubbing liquid is diluted before it enters the precipitation vessel. The result is minimal encrustation of the trays or other parts of the cleaning plant for the scrubbing solution.
