Methods and computer systems are provided managing and valuating inventory. In one embodiment, a computer system may assign every item of goods which is entering a working process to an identifier. The computer system may then track the goods in the working process. Further, the computer system may update a given identifier when the goods assigned to this identifier enter another stage in the working process, assign at least one price to each stage in the working process, determine the content of one or more identifiers, and calculate a price for goods in the working process.

Computer-implemented methods and computer systems for managing and valuating inventory

Systems and methods are provided for calculating a distribution of a quantity over receiver objects. In one implementation, a data processing system is provided that comprises application programs adapted to generate a distribution request, storage means for storing rules adapted for distribution of the quantity and storing an assignment of a sub-set of the rules to each application program, each rule having an assigned priority of execution and each sub-set of rules having an assigned identifier. The system may also comprise means for receiving the request comprising the identifier of the sub-set of rules assigned to the one of the application programs, the quantity to be distributed, and the identifiers of receiver objects, the distribution calculation means adapted to access the storage means for execution of the sub-set of rules assigned to the one of the application programs.

Systems and methods for calculating a distribution

Systems and methods are provided for calculating a distribution of a quantity over a number of receiver objects. In one implementation, a data processing system is provided that comprises a number of application programs, each of the application programs being adapted to generate a distribution request, storage means for storing a number of rules, each rule being adapted for distribution of at least a portion of the quantity over the receiver objects and for storing an assignment of a sub-set of the rules to each application program, each rule within one of the sub-sets of rules having an assigned priority of execution and each sub-set of rules having an assigned identifier. The data processing system may also comprise distribution calculation means for receiving the distribution request from one of the application programs, the distribution request comprising the identifier of the sub-set of rules assigned to the one of the application programs, the quantity to be distributed, and the identifiers of receiver objects over which the quantity is to be distributed, the distribution calculation means being adapted to access the storage means for execution of the sub-set of rules assigned to the one of the application programs in the order of the priorities assigned to the rules within the sub-set of rules.

The data processing system has an online transactional processing (OLTP) system for receiving of reporting data from work centers of a production line. The production line is logically divided into shop areas. At the exits of each shop area where an intermediate product is completed one reporting point serves as exit point in order to report the completion of an intermediate production step. This data is stored in the OLTP system and retrieved at a later point of time in order to generate a table containing aggregated intermediate product quantities per shop area. This table is transferred to a financial data server for calculation of the value of work in progress.

Data processing system and method for supply chain management

Data processing methods and systems are disclosed for use in industrial control. The methods and systems may include receiving control data from automation components of an industrial control system by a first computer system, the first computer system being coupled to the automation components by means of a first network, storing at least some of the control data in a first database by the first computer system, performing a database query of the first database for determination of a subset of the control data, aggregating the control data of the subset, and transmitting the aggregated control data to a second computer system over a second network.
