A commutation device for controlling a brushless d-c motor is disclosed. The commutation device includes a regulator circuit for regulating current supplied to the motor by means of a transistor connected between the power source and a commutation circuit. A threshold hysteresis level detector controls the transistor. During current peaks generated in the commutation circuit, the hysteresis of the level detector is increased to provide stable operation of the regulator with different motors and operating voltages.

Control arrangement for a brushless D-C motor

A circuit for use with an electric motor being supplied by a DC voltage source is disclosed. More particularly, in accord with the invention, the circuit includes a main transistor which is adapted to be connected to the DC voltage source and which is connected to a commutating arrangement comprised of transistors arranged in a bridge circuit. Moreover, in further accord with the invention, the circuit is provided with a control device for supplying on-off commands to the transistors of the commutating arrangement and for controlling the main transistor such that it is provided with an off command of short duration at a time when one of the transistors of the commutating arrangement is being supplied with an on command.

This invention is for apparatus used in combination with electronic commutation circuitry for a D.C. motor with a Y-connected stator winding wherein current control is accomplished by means of a cyclic current regulator. Current to the regulator is applied to the regulator by means of a series connected choke inductor and resistor, across which is connected in parallel a by-pass diode.

In a stator winding for a miniature brushless dc motor comprising a plurality of component windings designed as frame windings injection molded in plastic and nested together in such a manner that they form a cylinder surrounding the permanent magnet rotor of the motor and which can be inserted into a ring-shaped magnetic yoke without slots, the cylinder is formed, on at least one end, with a tubular extension having radial projections which are adapted to engage corresponding recesses at the housing or end bell of the motor for transmitting the reaction moment acting on the cylinder.

This invention pertains to a D.C. motor with an electronic commutation device provided as the reversible D.C. motor used in winding and re-winding apparatus. The electronic commutation device polarity is determined in accordance with the polarity of a position control output signal. Furthermore, the absolute value of the position control output signal is formed and applied to regulate the speed of the D.C. motor.
