A separation device is usable for separating portions of a material web. The separation device has at least one front clamping device, with at least one front clamping point, and at least one rear clamping device, with at least one rear clamping point, and at least one first stretching element. The separation device can be switched between at least one traversing mode and at least one separation mode by the movement of at least the at least one first stretching device between at least one first traversing position and at least one first separation position. A transport line is the shortest connection between the at least one front clamping point and the at least one rear clamping point, that connection line completely on a vertical reference plane and traversing or running at a tangent to any component of the separation device on the respective same side as one of a transport path provided for the material web and the portions to be separated. A first reference plane and a second reference plane are mutually spaced apart in an axial direction and a first transport line, lying on the first reference plane, and a second transport line, lying on the second reference plane, have different lengths when the first stretching element is located in the at least one first separation position.

A cylinder, which is part of an inking system or of a dampening system, has a rotary individual drive which is embodied as a drive motor. A changeable drive is also provided. The rotary drive is driven by the drive motors by a bevel or angular gear.

A printing form is either raised or is lowered by the use of a pressure device which includes a roller. The roller is arranged on a cross-beam in such a way that the roller can selectively be placed on, or taken off the forme cylinder, or a forme that is supported on the forme cylinder, by a device. The pressure device, or the cross-beam which supports the roller can be displaced in a manner such that the distance of the roller from the cylinder can selectively be increased.

A printing machine is provided with a control panel for use in the printing machine's control. The control panel is located on one side of the printing machine which includes at least one printing unit which has at least one pair of cylinder. A printing blanket assembly for a blanket cylinder of a rotary printing press includes a dimensionally stable support plate, and a printing blanket fastened to the outside of the support plate. A leading end of the support plate and a trailing end of the support plate are fastened to the blanket cylinder by the provision of an angled or beveled, printing blanket free end. A filler is provided between the beveled end of the support plate and the inner edge of the leading and trailing ends of the printing blanket.

The invention relates to a printing blanket assembly for a blanket cylinder of a rotary printing press. The printing blanket assembly comprises a dimensionally stable support plate () with two ends, one of which is the forward end and the other one is the trailing end with respect to the rotation of the blanket cylinder, these ends being fastened to the blanket cylinder with folded, printing-blanket free limbs (). The assembly further comprises a printing blanket (), fastened to the outside of the support plate () and having a forward end () and a trailing end (). Said printing blanket assembly allows for perfect printing also in the area of a gap between the limbs () and can be produced in a simple manner. For this purpose, both ends () of the printing blanket () project beyond the bevelled edge () of the pertaining limbs () of the support plate () and one support element () for supporting said projection is disposed between the bevelled edge () and the inside of the printing blanket ().

A printing couple in a printing machine is comprised of at least three cylinders, a forme cylinder, a transfer cylinder and a counter-pressure cylinder. The counter-pressure cylinder forms a printing location or point in cooperation with the transfer cylinder. The transfer cylinder is mounted in at least one lever which can be pivoted about an eccentrically pivoting axis in relation to the rotational axis of the forme cylinder. When the three cylinders are in a print position, a connecting plane through the axis of rotation of the forme cylinder and the pivoting axis of the lever forms an angle of between 25&#xb0; and 65&#xb0; with a plane through the axis of rotation of the cylinder forming the printing point.

A printer includes a cylinder pair that consists of a forme cylinder and a transfer cylinder. A satellite or steel cylinder forms a print position as it cooperates with the transfer cylinder of the cylinder pair. The form cylinder and the transfer cylinder are a fixed coupling driver assembly which is driven by a common drive motor. The drive assembly of the cylinder pair and a drive system for the satellite or steel cylinder can be selectively mechanically coupled with each other by use of a coupling.

A printing unit is comprised of a pair of cylinders, such as a forme cylinder and a transfer cylinder. These two cylinders, together with a third cylinder, form a printing site. The third cylinder is in contact with the transfer cylinder. The forme cylinder and the transfer cylinder are coupled together and form a drive system which is driven by a common drive motor during the printing process. Power is transmitted from the transfer cylinder to the forme cylinder. The drive system for the cylinder pair and a drive for the third cylinder are coupled to each other by a mechanical coupling for selective coupling and decoupling.
