A plug connector and printed circuit board assembly and method include a snap-on fastening arrangement wherein a row of resilient contacts on the plug connector are brought into engagement with a corresponding row of strip contacts carried by a planar surface of the printed circuit board, whereupon the plug connector is fastened to the printed circuit board in such a manner as to compress the resilient contacts against the strip contacts.

A resilient connector for maintaining an electrical conductor in side-by-side conductive engagement with a bus bar includes a generally loop- or O-shaped resilient contact body having a first end portion, an intermediate portion arranged generally normal to the intermediate portion, and a second end portion that is normally arranged at an acute angle relative to the contact intermediate portion, the contact first end portion containing a window opening having first and second opposed edges remote from and adjacent the intermediate portion, respectively, the second contact end portion being displaceable from a normal first position adjacent the first window edge toward a second position adjacent the second window edge, whereby when the second contact end is displaced to its second position and a conductor and a bus bar are introduced in side-by-side electrically conductive relation within the window, release of the second end portion causes the conductor and the bus bar to be clamped in tight electrical contact by the cooperation between the second contact end portion and by the first window edge. In order to prevent permanent distortion of the contact body, a stop member is mounted within the contact cavity for limiting movement of the second contact end beyond the second position. Consequently, the stop member permits the use of the contact arrangement in fixed pole applications where the bus bar and the compression spring are to be installed from above or below a housing within which the electrical components are contained.

Resilient connector having an insertable stop member

The flat/round connecting device provides connection between conductors of a flat-ribbon, flat-conductor cable having at least two flat conductors and the round conductors of a round cable having at least two round conductors. The device comprises a plurality of individual connectors, each having two portions extending along a straight line or disposed at an angle of 90.degree. relative to each other. One of the portions has a flat conductor crimping zone with crimping tongues arranged at a mutual spacing for crimping to the flat conductors and the other portion has a round-conductor crimping zone with crimping tongues arranged at a mutual spacing for crimping to the round conductors and to the insulation of the round conductors.

Flat/round cable connecting device

An arrangement is provided for electrically connecting a rotatable current contact to a stationary voltage, such as used in the connection of an airbag in an automobile steering wheel. The arrangement comprises an insulated electric line which extends between the current contact on one side and a voltage, current or signal source on the other side and which is coiled around a rotary shaft member. The electric line is in the form of a helical spring, the spring being disposed on an inner housing portion which is positioned on the rotary shaft member and is non-rotatably connected thereto. An outer stationary housing portion encloses the inner rotatable housing portion with the helical spring being situated between the two housing portions.
