In a machine press with a lower and an upper tool support, a closed hydraulic drive system acts upon the upper tool support. This system has at least one hydraulic drive unit, which includes at least one hydraulic cylinder-piston unit and at least one hydraulic assembly acting upon this unit and supplied from a storage reservoir. A base pressure above environmental pressure constantly prevails in the storage reservoir. The storage reservoir is designed as a cylinder store with a hydraulic chamber defined by a cylinder and a piston unit displaceably guided therein. The piston unit is acted upon on its side functionally opposite the hydraulic chamber by a hydraulic fluid chamber which for its part is connected to a high-pressure gas store. The active surface of the hydraulic fluid chamber on the piston unit is small compared to the active surface of the hydraulic chamber on the piston unit.

Machine press

In a machine press having a lower and an upper tool carrier, a hydraulic drive acting on the upper tool carrier comprises at least one closed hydraulic drive system that can be switched between rapid motion and press motion, the drive system having at least one hydraulic cylinder piston unit. The hydraulic liquid of the at least one hydraulic drive system is stored in a pressure accumulator fanning the storage container, supplying the entire associated hydraulic drive system. permanently with at least a base pressure above the ambient pressure. There is no hydraulic connection whatsoever between the working chamber on the piston rod side and the working chamber on the piston side of at least one hydraulic cylinder piston unit. The upper tool carrier is pre-stressed into its upper position by a spring unit.

An electrohydraulic booster comprises an electromechanical transducer and a hydromechanical power stage which is connected to a pressurized medium supply and encompasses a cylinder and a piston that can be moved therein along the working axis. The electromechanical transducer acts on a spool valve which is associated with the hydromechanical power stage, is disposed at least in part inside the piston, is guided within a guiding bore in such a way as to be movable along the working axis, and has two first leading edges that cooperate with corresponding second leading edges located on the guiding bore in order to form a hydraulic sequential control. The guiding bore consists of two parts, i.e. a cylinder-mounted first section and a second section which can be moved along the working axis and comprises the second leading edges.

Electrohydraulic booster

A hydraulic pressure supply unit has two exits that are alternately pressurized, a reversible pumping unit including at least two pumps, reversible electric motor that drives all pumps jointly, if necessary with mutually de-locking check valves before the exits, and a supply for hydraulic medium. One pump is a low-pressure pump and one pump is a high-pressure pump, and the pressurized exits of both pumps are placed against the same exit of the pressure supply unit. Both exits of the high-pressure pump can be separated from the low-pressure pump via check valves, and each pump is connected to the supply for hydraulic medium via its own shuttle valve. Both exits of low-pressure pump can be connected to a tank via pressure on-off valves, and the control connections of pressure on-off valves are connected to the exits of the high-pressure pump in such a way that the control connection of that pressure on-off valve on the currently pressurized side is applied with pressure by the currently pressurized exit of the high-pressure pump.

Hydraulic pressure supply unit

In a control arrangement for a working cylinder ( ), which may be actuated by a pressure medium, there are provided two separate adjustable regulating valves ( ) for both sides of the cylinders, each connected with a pressure medium outlet (t) on one side and with the working cylinder ( ) on the other side. The adjustment elements ( &prime;) of the two regulating valves ( ) are housed in a common valve housing ( ) for simplification of production, connection, assembly and maintenance; whereby the valve housing is provided with pressure medium connections for both cylinder sides that are to be controlled and with the corresponding conduits.
