A high pressure pump which has a working chamber, which on the one hand, is connected to a low pressure circuit via a solenoid valve and on the other hand, is connected to a high pressure reservoir via a check valve. The solenoid valve has a spring-loaded closing body, which cooperates with a valve seat and together with it, constitutes the check valve. When the magnet is without current, the check function of the closing body is switched off via a valve tappet of the solenoid valve so that even with an initial working stroke of the high pressure pump, the connection to the low pressure circuit is maintained. Only with a supply of current to the solenoid valve executed during the working stroke does the valve tappet allow the closing body to contact its valve seat, whereupon the high pressure delivery then begins. The high pressure pump is designated for use in fuel injection systems of diesel motor vehicle engines.

The invention provides a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines having a high-pressure chamber, which is intermittently brought to high fuel pressure, and which communicates via a pressure line with an injection point of an engine, and having a pressure valve, inserted into the pressure line. This pressure valve comprises a valve body and a valve seat onto which a valve member is pressed by the force of a valve spring. The valve spring is located in a recess of a pressure valve holder, which communicates with the injection line via an axial conduit. A transitional region leading from the diameter of the axial recess to the diameter of the conduit is embodied with a cone shape or a truncated cone shape.

A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, having a pump piston that reciprocates in a cylinder liner inserted into a pump housing. The pump piston and housing encloses a pump work chamber, and the pump piston has a control recess on its jacket face that communicates with the pump work chamber through a conduit. An oblique groove extends at a predetermined angle from the axis of the pump piston in the jacket face thereof and forms control edges. An annular slide is axially displaceable on the pump piston and includes two diametrically opposed diversion bores. To interrupt the high-pressure pumping to provide a pre-injection quantity and a main-injection quantity, first, second and third pockets are additionally machined into the jacket face of the pump piston. These pockets cooperated with pockets machined in the annular slide and with the control edge formed by the lower face edge of the annular slide to control the fuel flow.

A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines is proposed, having a reciprocating piston that defines a pump work chamber in a pump cylinder and that on its jacket face has a control recess communicating with the pump work chamber, and a control slide is displaceable on the pump piston in order to control the high-pressure pumping. This control slide, which cooperates with the control recess on the pump piston, is actuated via an adjusting lever disposed on an adjusting lever shaft; the adjusting lever shaft is moved by an adjusting lever mounted on it outside the housing. This adjusting lever can be pivoted between two stops; according to the invention, these stops are disposed on a base plate that simultaneously acts as a flange of the adjusting lever shaft bearing bush and that can be moved relative to the pump housing via oblong slots in order to adjust the stops.

For fuel control, the pump piston is also rotatable, while the control slide is secured against torsion, and a ball-shaped tang that engages a slit of a rider is present on the control slide. The tang is controlled by the rider and a control rod to control the fuel injection quantity.

The invention is based on a fuel injection pump having an adjuster, actuatable via an adjusting mechanism; the adjusting mechanism has an adjusting piston which is displaceable in a cylinder and is adjustable counter to a restoring force by a pressure fluid. The delivery of pressure fluid to the adjusting piston is controlled via electric valves, and by means of various geometrically defined adjusting piston positions, exact injection adjustment is possible without requiring technically complicated feedback sensors on the adjuster.

To adjust the axial position of the individual control slides relative to one another, the driver arms are permanently deformed in the axial direction of the control slides.

The control slide is actuated via a torque shaft in that a respective adjusting bolt of a straddling element joined to the torque shaft engages a cross groove of the control slide. The adjusting bolt has a cylindrical stud portion and a slide shoe supported thereon, and the slide shoe is secured against axial displacement by means of a head of the adjusting bolt.
