An internal combustion machine includes a combustion engine and a cooling system with a coolant pump, a main cooler, a heating heat exchanger, a bypass bypassing the heating heat exchanger, coolant channels, and a regulating device with an actuator for distributing a coolant depending on at least one local coolant temperature. When the actuator is actuated in a given direction, the regulating device allows a coolant flow through the combustion engine and the heating heat exchanger and prevents a coolant flow through the bypass and the main cooler in a first position; additionally allows a coolant flow through the bypass in a second position; and additionally allows a coolant flow through the main cooler in a third position. In a zero position which lies before the first position, the regulating device prevents a coolant flow through the combustion engine and allows a coolant flow through the heating heat exchanger.

Internal combustion machine, motor vehicle, and method for operating a motor vehicle

A combustion machine comprising an internal combustion engine and a cooling system that has a coolant pump, a main cooler, a heating heat exchanger, a bypass which bypasses the heating heat exchanger, coolant ducts in the internal combustion engine, and a regulating device with an actuator which serves for the regulated distribution of a coolant as a function of at least one local coolant temperature. The invention is characterized in that, when the actuator is actuated in one direction, the regulating device&#x2014;when it is in a first position, allows coolant flow through the internal combustion engine and the heating heat exchanger, and prevents coolant from flowing through the bypass and the main cooler;&#x2014;when it is in a second position, additionally allows coolant to flow through the bypass; and&#x2014;when it is in a third position, additionally allows coolant to flow through the main cooler.

Combustion machine

A mechanically controllable valve-train assembly includes a plurality of gas exchange valves, at least two cylinders assigned to each of the gas exchange valves, and valve-lift adjusting devices which each comprise a rotatable eccentric shaft. The eccentric shaft comprises at least one cam element and circumferential control surfaces which comprise at least one eccentric member. The eccentric shaft is driven by a drive device to set various valve-lift positions. A transmission assembly assigned to each of the gas exchange valves is mounted in a cylinder head via a bearing device so as to be movable and is operatively connected to one of the valve-lift adjusting devices and to a camshaft. The at least one cam element is operatively connected to a spring-loaded tappet element and is arranged outside the circumferential control surfaces and at a level of a zero-lift position of the circumferential control surfaces.

Mechanically controllable valve-train assembly

The invention involves a heat exchanger in modular circuit board design, with a connecting plate, in particular a charge air cooler, which is located in a housing into which the charge air flows in and out, at which the air flows through the charge air cooler, and at which the housing has a mounting opening into which the charge air cooler can be inserted and installed by means of its connecting plate. The construction improves the absorption of oscillation and vibration, if, according to the invention, the body of the heat exchanger is equipped with mounting devices which work together with corresponding mounting devices in the interior of the housing.

The invention relates to an internal combustion engine, especially of a motor vehicle, which comprises an air path for intake air in which a mechanically driven charge unit (), especially a compressor, which can be connected and disconnected by means of a coupling (), an exhaust gas turbocharger (), an intake pipe (), connected to air inlets of a cylinder block () of the internal combustion engine, and a charge cooler () are mounted. One pressure outlet () of the mechanically driven charge unit (is directly connected to the intake pipe () and one pressure outlet () of the exhaust gas charger () is connected to an intake inlet () of the mechanically driven charge unit (). The pressure outlet () of the exhaust gas charger () is connected to the intake inlet () of the mechanically driven charge unit () via an on-off butterfly valve () and upstream of said on-off butterfly valve () to the intake pipe () via a load butterfly valve (). The charge cooler () is integrated into the intake pipe () to give an intake/charge cooler module.

Dual-charged internal combustion engine and method for operating the same

A method for producing cylinder linings in an aluminum or magnesium engine block for an internal combustion engine utilizes plasma spraying of a mixture of powdered molybdenum and powdered steel containing from about 10 to about 70 wt. % molybdenum and from about 90 to about 30 wt. % steel. The resulting slide layer has good adhesion to the engine block and has high wear resistance.

Method of producing a slide surface on a light metal alloy

A method for producing cylinder linings in an aluminum alloy engine block for an internal combustion engine utilizes plasma spraying of a mixture of powdered molybdenum and powdered steel containing from about 10 to about 70 wt. % molybdenum and from about 90 to about 30 wt. % steel directly to the engine block. The resulting slide layer has good adhesion to the engine block and has high wear resistance.
