Rendering multi-dimensional data in a polyhedron, such as a cube, in a 3D environment allows for the ease of visualization of, and interaction with, the underlying data. The approaches herein allow for 3D manipulation of records within the underlying data by filtering the records across elements of a particular dimension. These records may be filtered by physically grabbing a 'drawer'&#x2014;a slice of data within the polyhedron&#x2014;and removing the drawer to a separate space. That drawer then represents all of the underlying records filtered by that slice, and can be further manipulated by additional filtering, or by merging multiple drawers together.

3D data exploration using interactive cuboids

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for the performing of a user authentication task in a virtual environment, for secure authentication of a user utilizing three dimensions. An embodiment operates by using a group of objects shown in a field of view to the user, wherein the user selects a subset of these group of objects by using a virtual environment device to constitute a password. Such a password, because it is chosen in three dimensions and wherein user movement in three-dimensions may be analyzed per an individual user profile according to machine learning logic, is efficient and secure.

Immersive experience password authentication in extended reality environments

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for determining an object of interest in an augmented reality environment, displaying an augmented reality selector containing pertinent actions in a reachable area, and causing a selected action to be executed. The augmented reality application may determine an augmented reality object of interest in an augmented reality experience and determine a reachable area of screen from the determined object to a reachable area. The augmented reality application may then display an augmented reality selector in the reachable area that includes interaction options determined based on the augmented reality object being focused on. In a mobile embodiment, this enhancement allows users to interact with the object without repositioning their hands or losing site of the object in the augmented reality experience. For an AR headset, by displaying the augmented reality selector in a reachable area, a user's field of vision remains unimpeded, and the user may interact with the object via simple gestures such as clicks.

Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for providing accessible menus in 3D visualization contexts, such as augmented reality and virtual reality environments. In one aspect, a menu in the shape of a circle segment may be presented within a corner of a 3D visualization, allowing a user to easily access icons present within that menu using a touch interface. The user may rotate the menu in order to access additional icons.

Touch interaction in augmented and virtual reality applications

Systems and methods are disclosed for a holopresence conferencing system using off-the-shelf videoconferencing systems. The holopresence conferencing system uses one high-definition stereoscopic camera per remote participant and discards all but a center portion of the right image and a center portion of the left image generated by the camera. The system concatenates the center portion of the right and the left image into a composite image and transmits the composite image via an off-the-shelf videoconferencing system. At the viewing location, the composite image is divided in half, recovering the right center portion and the left center portion. The right center portion and left center portion may be placed on a background and stereoscopically projected in high-definition on a semi-circular life-size screen. Viewing participants may wear glasses that allow the viewer to see the remote participant in three-dimensions.
