A device and a method for contacting a welding wire in a welding torch includes at least two contact shells having a contact area for contacting the welding wire. In order to make the contact of the welding wire as constant and permanent as possible during the lifetime of a contacting device, the contact shells have a holding section and are arranged inside a sleeve to define a rotational axis, the sleeve being fastened to a nozzle pipe having an integrated pressure mechanism. The pressure mechanism is adapted to exert pressure on the contact shells. The sleeve includes a holding device for exerting a counter-force onto the contact shells. The welding wire is contacted in the contact area of the contact shells with a contact force.

The invention relates to a device and a method for contacting a welding wire () in a welding torch (), including at least two contact shells () having a contact area () for contacting the welding wire (), and to a contact shell () for contacting a welding wire (). In order to make the contact of the welding wire as constant and permanent as possible during the lifetime of a contacting device, the contact shells () have a holding section () and are arranged inside a sleeve () to define a rotational axis (), the sleeve () being fastened to a nozzle pipe () having an integrated pressure mechanism (), and the pressure mechanism () being adapted to exert pressure () on the contact shells (). The invention relates to a securing element () arranged between a gas element () and a current element () of the plug-in element (). A fixing element () is arranged in the coupling () of the torch handle and meshes with said securing element (), and, for guiding over said fixing element () arranged in the coupling (), the gas element () has a diameter smaller than those of the securing element () and of the current element (). Said securing element () can be guided over the fixing element () using a flat area (), while the gas element () is arranged in a gas bore hole () in the coupling () in a sealing manner. The position of the torch body () can be freely adjusted by means of a manual rotational movement, said fixing element () being guided in a circumferential groove () in said securing element ().

A switch-off box for a robot system has a two-part housing and a coupling device resiliently mounted in the housing and connected to a torch body and a hose pack or to a torch handle connected with the hose pack, and having a supporting surface for punctual contact on the housing. There are contacting or switching elements connected to the coupling device. Two oppositely located openings are provided in the housing for connection of the coupling device to the torch body and for connection of the coupling device to the hose pack or the torch handle. The supporting surface is connected with the contacting or switching elements so that a respective contacting or switching element will be activated or deactivated by lifting of the supporting surface from the housing, and a signal will be transmitted from the contacting or switching element to an interfaced control device, or the robot system.

The invention describes an apparatus, in particular a laser hybrid welding head () for a laser hybrid welding process, in which a laser () or laser optics or an optical focussing unit and elements of a welding torch () for an arc welding process and/or a feed device for a welding wire as well as a device for generating a cross jet () connected by at least an incoming line () and an outgoing line () to a compressed air supply system, are mounted on at least one mounting element ().
