An existing logical data link between a first subscriber terminal connected to a subscriber line of a telecommunications network and a switching center of the telecommunications network is transferred from a first subscriber terminal to a second subscriber terminal which is connected to the subscriber line of the first subscriber terminal or to another subscriber line of the second telecommunications network. The second subscriber terminal receives a message sent from the first subscriber terminal concerning the communication state of the existing logical data link and takes over this data link in the reported communication state, adapting its own state.

A subscriber side network termination unit of an access line network and method for operating same having: (a) first interface for the access line network-side transmission and reception of a transmission frame containing data channels: (b) a second interface for the subscriber-side offering of telecommunication payload data channels for telecommunication applications as well as a signaling channels, and (c) a third interface for the subscriber-side offering of data channels for data applications. Non-blocking multi-cast WDM coupling arrangement

An optical coupling system for wavelength-individual through-connection between wavelength-division multiplex (WDM) a plurality of input and output fibers with simultaneous possibility of wavelength conversion is provided. A respective optical splitter individually associated to an input fiber multiplies the WDM signal incoming on the appertaining input fiber into a.multidot.m WDM signals that are supplied to a.multidot.m tunable optical filters, wherein a is the plurality of output fibers and m is the plurality of wavelengths combined in a respective wavelength-division multiplex on an output fiber. Respectively, a plurality e of tunable filters connected to the plurality e of input fibers, combined at the output side via an optical combiner, lead to a wavelength converter that is connected to an input of a wavelength-division multiplexer preceding an output fiber.

Optical WDM coupling systems

For alternate circuiting between the two fibers of a double light waveguide connection proceeding between two nodes, the optical signal is split at the transmission side onto the two fibers. The two fibers are combined at the node of the reception side by an optical switch over device via which the working fiber is connected to the node of the receive side during a normal operating mode and which, in an alternate circuit mode, the redundant fiber is automatically connected to the node of the receive side instead of the working fiber. Two optical switches are inserted at the transmission side between the splitter and the two fibers, both of these optical switches being closed in normal operating mode. Only the optical switch inserted between the redundant fiber and the splitter remains closed in the alternate circuit mode, by contrast whereto the optical switch inserted between the splitter and the working fiber is opened.
