A guiding device for a freshly printed sheet has a sheet-guiding surface, which is located at a distance from an imaginary conveying surface. The sheet has a leading edge, which sweeps over the imaginary conveying surface along a sheet transport direction perpendicular to the leading edge of the sheet. The sheet-guiding surface is formed on a guide-plate arrangement and has blast-air openings. The sheet-guiding surface includes blast-air nozzles of a first nozzle configuration and of at least a second nozzle configuration. The blast-air nozzles of the first nozzle configuration produce air-jets that sweep over the sheets and are aligned with respect to the sheet transport direction. The blast-air nozzles of the second nozzle configuration produce rotational flows sweeping over the sheets.

Guiding device for a freshly printed sheet

Powder sprayer in a delivery system of a printing press includes a row of powder nozzles extending over a sheet width, and a blower associated with the powder nozzles and aimed in a direction of a travel path of the sheet, the blower being actuatable for generating an air stream, the powder nozzles being disposed in the air stream.

Overshooting-sheet safety device for sheet deliveries of printing presses includes a triggering member responsive to overshooting sheets for triggering a stoppage of the printing press, the triggering member extending across the width of an oncoming sheet and being mounted in bearings at both sides thereof, the triggering member being deflectable perpendicularly to a line connecting said bearings for triggering a stoppage of the printing press.

Overshooting-sheet safety device

A gripper device of a sheet-guiding system grips a leading edge of a sheet freshly printed on at least one side thereof. The sheet is guided along an imaginary guide path in a sheet travel direction extending perpendicularly to the leading edge of the sheet. A plurality of first air blast nozzles having respective nozzle openings emit an air flow onto a surface of the sheet. The air flow has a first main flow direction extending in parallel with and in the direction of sheet travel. A plurality of second blast nozzles emit respective air jet bundles in a respective second main flow direction perpendicular to the leading edge of the respective sheet. The first and the second main flow directions, respectively, intersect at a common starting point and define an angle therebetween having a maximum value of 90.degree. and, in a condition wherein the second main flow direction of the air jet bundles is inclined with respect to the guide path, an imaginary elongation of a central air jet of the air jet bundles, respectively, passing through the guide path and impacting with the first nozzle openings.

Device for guiding a sheet having a leading edge which follows an imaginary conducting surface along a sheet-transport direction perpendicular to the leading edge, the sheet-guiding device being formed with a sheet-guiding surface spaced from the imaginary conducting surface, and having equipment for generating a plurality of air jets for applying an air flow to the sheet between a surface of the sheet and the sheet-guiding surface, the generating equipment being formed of respective flow channels for the air jets disposed at an angle to and merging with the sheet-guiding surface, includes an integral guide plate having a surface constituting a predominant part of the sheet-guiding surface, the integral guide plate being formed with perforations, the air-jet generating equipment being formed of blast-air nozzles having blast-air nozzle end faces constituting a remaining part of the sheet-guiding surface complementing the predominant part of the sheet-guiding surface to form the entire sheet-guiding surface, the blast-air nozzles fitting into the respective perforations formed in the guide plate so that the blast-air nozzle end faces are flush with the surface of the guide plate, the blast-air nozzles, respectively, having the respective flow channels formed thereon, and being formed with a nozzle bore passing therethrough and communicating with the respective flow channel.

A sheet delivery for a printing machine or the like with a device for changing a sheet pile while the machine is in operation, includes suction-type grippers insertable into a sheet feeder, opposite to a conveying direction of the sheets and between pile stops for a leading edge of the sheets, the suction-type grippers having a device for gripping by suction, in an inserted end position of the grippers, the leading edge of a sheet deposited onto the suction-type grippers and for holding the sheet at a distance above the sheet pile in an auxiliary-pile position, so as to permit the insertion of an auxiliary-pile device beneath the sheet, and a device for stretching the sheet after the leading edge of the sheet has been gripped by the inserted suction-type grippers, the sheet-stretching device being effective for withdrawing the suction-type grippers a predetermined distance towards the pile stops for the leading edge of the sheet.

A sheet delivery for a sheet-fed printing machine having foldaway pile steps for engagement by a leading edge of a sheet travelling from the sheet-fed printing machine to a location above a sheet pile and removable collecting fingers insertable substantially rectilinearly for a brief period above the sheet pile so as to extend from the leading edge of the sheet, parallel to the plane of the sheet, for forming an auxiliary pile, includes a first motorized drive for moving the pile stops, and a second motorized drive for moving the collecting fingers, each of the first and second motorized drives being disposed on a respective one of two machine sides of the sheet delivery, coaxially mounted first and second drive shafts disposed transversely to the direction of travel of the sheet, a first transmission device operatively connecting the first motorized drive with the first drive shaft for rotating the first drive shaft, the first transmission device being disposed on one of the machine sides, and a second transmission device operatively connecting the second motorized drive with the second drive shaft for rotating the second drive shaft and thereby guidingly displacing the collecting fingers substantially rectilinearly, the second transmission device being disposed on the other of the machine sides, and a switching device for the first and second motorized drives for independently driving the first and second drive shafts individually, as well as for correspondingly driving the first and second drive shafts in mutual dependence.

Sheet delivery for a sheet-fed printing machine

A device for collecting a trailing edge of a sheet for a sheet delivery with a non-step auxiliary piling device in a sheet-fed rotary printing machine includes a plurality of collecting fingers all disposed at the same level at distances mutually spaced from one another, a motorized drive for moving the collecting fingers forwards and backwards, parallel to sheet travel, in a guide channel, a suction roller in operative proximity with the collecting fingers, and sheet pile stops for the trailing edges of the sheets, the sheet pile stops extending upwardly beyond the level of the sheet pile to the suction roller, the collecting fingers being disposed beneath the suction roller and between the pile stops, the motorized drive including a common drive member with mechanical transmission members coupled with the collecting fingers.

Device for catching a trailing edge of a sheet for a sheet delivery

Sheet delivery apparatus for rotary printing presses, in which the supplied sheets are deposited on a lowerable delivery table to form a pile of sheets. A bar grate is employed as a temporary storage apparatus and is adapted to be slid into position when a full pile of sheets, which are to be removed, are stacked. When the bar grate is slid into position, one end of it rests on a provided, laterally movable support.
