An anchor bolt has locking elements arranged over a part of the outer surface and formed as radially projecting lugs which are spaced circumferentially and axially from one another. Therefore a good mixing of a compound mass and reduction of the driving-in resistance is obtained. Therefore the outer diameter measured over the lugs of the anchor bolt can be matched approximately to the diameter of the drilled hole. Simple and inexpensive manufacture of the anchor bolt can be provided by powdered metal injection molding method using a system of binders with subsequent removal of the binders and sintering.

A prestress-monitoring element for screw-type anchors is arranged to be inserted like a washer between a nut and an article to be fixed and includes a pressure ring and an expansion ring. If the nut provided for fixing is tightened, then the resultant axial prestress causes the pressure ring to expand the expansion ring until the nut lies against the expansion ring. In this end position, a prestress required by the construction of the prestress-monitoring element is achieved. The position of the nut on the pressure ring can be monitored visually, as a result of which the prestress can be indirectly monitored.

The expansible metal anchor (1) for anchoring in a hole drilled in a component includes a shank part (2) and an expander cone (4) having a polygonal cross-section defining several faces (13) at its front end. As the expansible anchor is driven into the hole drilled in the component, the web members (6,6') break off, so that the expansible segments (5) are displaceable on the faces (13) of the expander cone. The expansible anchor (1) is manufactured from powdered metal by an injection-molding process using a system of binders with subsequent removal of the binders and sintering, and a slide member of the mold divided at the corner edges (20) of the faces (13) is used to make the gap (7) between the expansible segments (5) and the faces (13) of the expander cone (4).

An expansible plug comprises a closed shank section formed as a shank sleeve provided with a screw channel and a longitudinal divided expansible shank, the shank being formed by two shank halves provided with staggered expansible elements which interlock to form a closed expansion region, the expansible elements being offset relative to one another and having bores arranged eccentrically relative to a center line of the expansible shank and overlapping so that an overlapping region forms a constricted screw channel, the expansion region tapering conically toward a plug tip, and one of the shank halves being connected to the shank sleeve in a joining region by a secure joint.

The expansible plug for fixing an element or frame member on solid or hollow building material, has a plug shank (1) having a plurality of expansion discs (3,4) arranged one after the other along the plug shank (1). The expansion discs (3,4) are provided with eccentric bores (12,13) located so that, without the fixing screw (23) inserted, the bores (12,13) of adjacent discs (3,4) are noncoaxial or staggered with respect to one another and overlap one another and so that the overlapping bores (12,13) form a constricted screw hole (15) through the plug shank (1). When a fixing screw (23) is screwed into the expansible plug the expansion discs (3,4) are displaced laterally so that the bores (12,13) in the expansion disks have a coaxial relationship and the expansion disks (3,4) are displaced laterally outwards from the plug shank to secure the expansible plug in a hole in which it is located. The expansion discs (3,4) are preferably attached to joining members (9,10) on opposite sides of the plug shank and every second successive expansion disc (3,4) is attached to a common resilient joining member (9,10).

The angle of the concavity of the curved portion at the leading end of the expander body corresponds to a double angle of inclination of the conical portion to the central axis of the anchor.
